Polk LSI M series
Wanting to know if anyone knows of a good place to buy the new LSI series speakers? Looking to buy a complete set
but wanting to save a little off MSRP. I contacted Polk to see where's the closest place that sells them and they stated
Fry's did, but when I called they had no clue as to what speakers I was referring to.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried Crutchfield

Libertyc .... Know anyone that has bought from them?
-
They purchase inventory from places going under, my bet is they are not an authorized vendor so no warranty from them. For the price the LSiM's carry I would want a warranty for sure......"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I would NOT buy from them. They admit to being a liquidator and not being able to offer the manufacturer's warranty. How could these be liquidated already?
If Crutchfield carries them, they have superior customer service and know how to ship stuff properly.

Me too... but there again, at 1010$ for a pair of LSiM703 (without warranty), it's still 30% less than the 1500$ they are going for at Crutchfield. However, I would prefer to wait for a little sale to have both a great price and warranty...
Being liquidators, it's still far from ideal for speakers... at least, IMO. Sure they are audio liquidators (way better than electronics liquidators or all-around liquidators), but I do not know if I would...Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c

Something interesting I noticed yesterday.
The 703 bookies are cheaper then LSi 7/9's at least on Polk's website. Would love to hear them or the 705's... someday. -

The 703 are priced each, while LSi7/9 are for a pair... that's why
I'll probably buy a pair in 10 years or so... (unless the upgrade bug gets me first).Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c

That's the same thing I was wondering. If they just came out how can they be liquidating them already. Seems very fishy. -

Well, it's not Polk liquidating their own products. There is a probability that they liquidate stuff from a certain dealer who is in bankrupcy. Maybe this dealer already had a few LSiM in stock, or they already bought it from Polk before going bankrupt (and were comited to be shipped later); Audiophile Liquidator bought that stuff. I don't know... I don't think it's fishy or something like that: It's final sales stuff (no refund), without warranty of any sort as they claim that they are not authorized dealers. People buying from them are aware of these facts.Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c

I guess it depends on if one is shopping for service during and after the sale or a rock bottom price. The LSiM are too new to be in a store that is liquidating, IMO. It seems shady, but I'm sure more research or calling them, etc might give some answers to the OP.
I always operate on the premise, if it's too good to be true......

Thing is many people complain about the shipping price. It must be quite a large amount, otherwise they would probably make little to no money. So yeah, it might not be that much of a deal anyways, expecially if shipping is 20% of the total order.
Anyways, I would only buy from authorized dealers, period. Warranty and peace of mind.Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c

Libertyc, your inbox is full and cannot accept pm. Can I ask you why you picked the name Libertyc?I have found that tube based computers provide the best sound quality. ENIAC and MANIAC I offer a smooth, well defined and articulated sound unmatched by the current silicon based CPUs.jeremymarcinko wrote: »But as in all things your perception is your reality.

Yeah its really frustrating that Polk directs you to Fry's for the new LSiMs.... Frys definately only has the old LSi line. Its a failure of the web developers to update the search site for the new LSiM -- you would think they would get around to it eventually. It still only has LSi as an option.

And are still selling them at around MSRP which is ridiculous. I just wish they still had the 15's so I could try to get em for a steal from the store lol...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I have heard both and own the 15's. Here is how I see it. With either if your doing any HT you will still need a sub. If your doing 2 channel you might still want a sub with both as well as the 15's dig deep but due to their placement dont always give you the kick you may want.
I personally would choose the 9's since their crossovers are easier to mod, they are easier to transport/ship if you need to send them to someone to mod, and the 9's + good stands are still less than the 15's.
Do I love my 15's heck yeah, but I got them for a ridiculously low price (500) and they were local and I use them for HT. If they had been as expensive as the ones on Polks Ebay site I would have gotten the 9's no question asked.
P.S. you may not need a sub with the 9's as when properly powered at dcmartinpc's house for 2 channel we kept checking he didnt have his sub on. Same with the 15's though I personally find the need for a sub for both but thats because I do HT mostly."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Trying to save a little money, what do you guys think about the 705's vs the 707's? Should there be a big difference between the 5 1/4 mid bass driver in the 705's and the 6 1/2 midbass driver in the 707's. I know the subs on the 707's are bigger but I'm running dual subs so that shouldn't matter too much:

The exception might be if you're more sensitive to bass directionality like I am. That's why I have LSi15's in the front. With a crossover of 80hz I can tell that some frequencies are coming from the sub (in the rear corner) and that bothers me. So, with the 15's up front, I can set a lower crossover point (60hz) and not tell where the sub is. It also blends better that way. -
If you're running dual subs, I'd say go with the 703's and save even more money. I don't think the extra bass extension of the floor-standers will be necessary in your case.

Thought about the 703's but I love me some towers. Plus for music sometimes I like to run without the subs. -
I went into American in Rockford Il and auditioned the lsim707s. I went there to look for some new furniture and stopped by the electronics dept. B lined to the Focals. Out the corner of my eye I immediately recognized the Lsim707 pair. I ran outside to my car to grab my demo disk I take with me everywhere and WOW! They were powered by a Cambridge integrated amp 40 wpc the salesman told me. Please have money in hand, make the drive, and buy these speakers! They murder my 15s! The only problem American would not budge on the price!
-
Thanks, got an American 1 mile from my house and they're on sale....
Thanks again -
Ah, good old American... none of those out here in Denver, but was certainly a decent spot back home in wisconsin.
