when an employer states the cover the cost of classes and support a person in career development and post it everywhere. Then when you go to try and have them cover the cost of the classes get told its not in the budget and you have to come up with everything yourself.

Or ask a question so that it will get ignored every time you ask it, yet state that you are clear and to the point.

I find more and more that as I get older the more and more I hate just people in general. No one ever seems to think before they act, they take on the idea that everyone should do as they say, and not as they do. I hate it. If you think something should be done and tell everyone that it needs to be done that way, then go do the exact opposite is just getting old fast.

I have and use a cell phone jammer, works great. It won't do 4g but for everyone else it tosses the conversation. It's highly illegal but I have and use it anyway. People sit outside my work window and yammer loudly their life story. I turn on my jammer and in seconds they don't have connection and they leave. At restaurants I have on occasion used it when I am paying good money for ambiance and someone will not stop yapping, or they text so much it's disturbing others. I see textdriving all the time, and as I pull up I can stop that nonsense. People walk into my office already being loud on the cell phone and it interrupts our office noise level so I use it on them too. I might be having too much fun with it but I do try to be discriminate as it is certainly frowned upon by the fcc. One of my wife's friends gave it to me and it is one of the coolest and useful things I've owned.

My peeves are people who see you waiting to turn and are waiting for them to go by but they turn without a signal. I also dislike people whom you hold the door open for and they walk through without acknowledging a thanks.

I also dislike people who call for information and then say "let me find a pen". When people ask questions it's annoying for them to ask more questions about while I'm answering the first one, especially if they listened to me first there would be no more questions needing answers.

I mainly dislike people who choose as a rational choice to be stupid.

I just read your post H9, right on!
I do the same thing. I treat everyone in any business transaction as if they are a personal friend, and it makes their day much better and you get much better service in return. I also tip well to favorite wait staff, bartenders and cab drivers because it makes up for the last guy who was a lousy tipper. I find that each time I do that I tend to have tabs that get lower and drinks that are better made and beers that have been left in a really cold place to be brought out just for me. At the grocery store the staff will go the extra mile to make sure what I want is fresh and not the stuff left out to get stale. Even when dealing with people in corporations I thank the folks that are street level. I don't like Comcast as a corporation, but I lavish the employees with praise because they get beat up quite a bit and it's not their fault the system is flawed. Same thing for dealing with airport employees.

Being a jackass will only put you behind a mule.

Imagine if everyone did one little considerate deed everyday and asked the recipient to pay if forward. Within a short period of time our manners as a society would return.

Most recently? The power went out last Saturday for about 100,000 people in the area because of heavy snowstorms. we had power, so my wife's Mom and Step-dad move in with us, they just got power back this morning, after over 4 days.

Anyways, her step-dad has a habit of putting things back empty. He finishes the banana peppers off, cleans the jar, puts it back in the fridge empty, same with the pickles. I go to get some Doritos last night, and the bag is rolled up nicely in the cupboard, with the chip clip on the bag, and it's empty, same with the cheese puffs. I don't mind if you eat anything you want as a guest in my home, but throw the damn packaging away! Wonder what else I'll find over the next few days.

MIL tells me he does that so no one knows he ate it (supposed to be on a strict diet - diabetic), but putting it back just makes it obvious that he ate it. We are not in the habit of screening the trash, and would have never noticed if he just threw it away. Crazy.

That's actually a very good point Drenis. I am, and I think most of us are, at some point either breaking a law or being a hypocrite about breaking a rule, law, or some other aspect of what "should be". Most people get through life ignoring this by justifying it. We all do it, and as you correctly pointed out that not only am I breaking a law, I posted it and then said I dislike people choosing to do something stupid and therefor hypocritical.

I'll admit it, I knew that I would catch flack from someone for posting anything I'm doing as illegal. My justification to make myself feel better is that I know why the FCC would not be happy about the jammer. In the wrong hands and for the wrong purpose it can be a danger to society, such as if someone needed to call 911. It could also disrupt normal and legitimate calls. I don't want to interfere with other's lives, I just want mine to go smoother without someone coming into my space and messing it up with their calls. In my office no one has a reason to blab loudly, they can go outside away from my window and office. There is a big park there perfect for conversations. In traffic I am probably saving lives by disconnecting the texters. If it's an emergency they can pull over for their conversations. At a restaurant they can go outside.

I don't use it that much actually, but it sure comes in handy. I don't like to break laws but this is one that I do by choice with some element of guilt just because of the law, and with some hypocrisy because I don't like others doing stupid things or illegal things.

If you ever speed one mile over the speedlimit, do rolling stops, ride a bike without coming to a full complete stop or ride at night without lights, or on a sidewalk, or turn without using proper handsignals, or drink above the legal limit and get into your car with keys, or download music without authority/permission from the artist or distributor, or take a photo of someone without their express consent, then you are a law breaker.

just sayin', lol. But really that's a good point. I would like to see laws change so that I don't have any justification for this little jammer. For my office I can just point to the door and most people leave, but in public the phone is becoming worse than drinking and driving. I saw a kid run a red light at a busy intersection (key west busy) on a skateboard while texting traveling a high rate of speed. We really need to have those laws in place just like DUI's and seatbelts. Until we have those laws and enforce them, I will continue to break at least one law on occasion and be a hypocrite about it because I still dislike people that choose to be stupid.

People who offer to help you do something ( as in a favor ) and after it's all said and done they want payed for it.

Case in point: I finished out my basement years back and my sister in laws boyfriend ( now brother in law ) offered to help. It cost me $400.00 !!!!!!

Another pisser for me......people who don't hold the door open for others.....especially the elderly. They go in a store, food joint, whatever and let that door slam on the next person trying to get in. Like they think gold bars are being handed out for free and don't get in their way. I know that sounds kinda knitpicky, but just another sign of lack of common courtesy. My grandson almost had his fingers chopped off by such an arse on the way out of a Houlihans.

Young people, too, seem to slip through a door barely opened so that you can hardly even grab it to get through yourself. They see you coming, they couldn't hold the door or even open it wide so that someone else could get through before it slams shut? Chaps my a$$.

Another pet peeve of mine is people who don't GO when they should at an intersection. They sit there, waving you to go, thinking they are doing you SUCH a favor, when they should just MOVE and clear the way for everyone else. I just sit and stare at them until they get tired and actually go. I grew up in NY, and you don't have to worry about people doing that there. And another one, people who pull out into the acceleration lane and expect you to yield and make room for them in traffic, instead of waiting until there is room to pull into the regular lane. Seems to be a lot of Texans around here that do that.

heiney, I feel your pain, too, about the ones who pull in front of you when there is NObody behind you as far as the eye can see, and then they can't even be bothered to actually accelerate up to highway speed.

i live in south florida, add to this list: any driver over 85...drivers who don't know what a blinker is...drivers who don't look before they change lanes....companies that give you a 'window' of when they'll arrive to perform services, that never call to say their arrival will be well outside the 'window'!!!!

sda2mike, you ever make it to key west? let me know if you do. I head to south beach every once in a while. It's the only time I get to put my 5.0 to work as the speed limit is 45 max on the island. I convinced my friend to get some 1c's and I still have to deliver and install the upgraded crossovers.

Drenis, you are right, I saw it just as it was a good "I walked right into it" ribbing. I would have done the same if someone else had posted some thing like that. Key West is laid back, no doubt. We don't have road rage because no one is anonymous. The horn is never used in anger here, ever. We do get annoyed though, especially "tourons" that stop in the middle of the road or at a green light to consult with the family as to where they might want to go. We laugh and tolerate it though. I think driving wise the turn signal is my biggest peve, it's so disrespectful to make others wait on you when with a simple flic of the wrist you can allow someone to go on and live a fruitful life rather than wastefully sitting there. I also think of the poor guy or gal who invented the latest greatest easiest to use turn signal, and then it doesn't get used. I think it would drive the inventor more nuts than me.

Everyone should make Key West a mecca visit at least once every two years to get your mind right. I moved down for summer activities more than anything, but it's pretty dang nice right now. The spring break girls in bikinis are ransacking the island holding up traffic, and I keep circling around in the convertible taking it all in. I take the long route to work, and to home. When I was single my neighbor was a bartender at a great girl attracting bar, and he would replace my beer automatically without me asking or turning around. When crowds of girls were trying to get his attention, some girl would always notice me getting beer automatically and then ask "what gives" to which I would act surprised and say "are you trying to order drinks?" Of course they were, then I would signal my friend who would serve them. I would usually get them to order shots, and so on. Ahhh...the fun, the life, the stories! I love my wife but if it weren't for her I would be breakin breakin right now!

Pisses me off to no end to have some woman digging in her purse after all the groceries are scanned looking for her checkbook.

Actually checks should be banned from the grocery store since they also need 10 forms of ID and a manager to initial.

Nice! I know you mentioned it but have to put it out there again. I know South Florida is having incredible weather so a lot of folks haven't been down in a while, but it really isn't that far. My friend in Key Largo stays at the Eden house too, nice place. We usually sit on the front porch with a couple of fine stogies and Haitian rum. It's right down the street from my office so I stroll over.

I hate people who keep racism alive and well. Can't we just be human beings in this day and age? And why do I have to be part of an ethnic group? Can't I just be considered a male?

Also I hate all these jack asses that want to be president, it's like watching a stupid reality show. Can't we just have one man step up and state he is here to help America out with out all the juvenile you did this and this and your way is wrong to the other **** wipes with to much money that want to be president.. Just one guy that refuses to finger point at how ridiculous the other guys views are, but to stand as a real man and get the job done.

Watching what we have to pick from sometimes makes my skin crawl. They make it seem more like a game anymore, I'm all for a debate but they act like grade school kids sometimes it makes me sick..

And I agree with most of the above. It just might be true that the human race is not all that smart after all.. LOL!!
