I just bought a PSW505 subwoofer through amazon. Could not get it to work. After looking through forum found someone that had same problem and they said Polk had them check wiring to sub and wire was off. I pulled amplifier and the black wire going to the sub is off. I have big hands and arms and am unable to get wire back on. Where do I go from here?

    Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. You can pull the woofer out of the cabinet and attach the wire. Just remove the grille cover and there should be a decorative gasket going around the outside of the woofer. Pull the gasket off and take out the screws holding the woofer onto the cabinet, sometimes you need to use a putty knife to loosen the woofer. If you contact Polk's CS they'll send you a replacement gasket.
    Regards, Ken

Thanks. At least I could get to the woofer. I am replacing a paradigm PDR-12. Could not find a way to get the face off that sub to replace woofer. Any how the connector was extremely loose. Would not stay on. Don't think this was a shipping problem. I think it was probably very loose on install. Crimped connector and wont come off now. Both connectors seem loose but wont come off. Will see. This was not what I was wanting to see on my first Polk speaker. All my paradigm speakers are getting old and will be looking for replacements before long. I will need to get a new gasket. Thanks again for help and quick reply.

So now that it's working, how do you like the 505 compared to the Paradigm??

I guess I need to go rent a good movie and try but so far what I have heard the Paradigm was a lot better. Wish I would of figured out how to remove woofer and replaced. I may still do it. I could not remember how to put the insulation back in the cabinet. I kind of stuffed it in the air chamber to the back. May have something to do with it.

Interesting...could you tell a little more about what you heard? What were you listening to?

Glad that you got it working! For the record, my DSWPro550WI sounds better than most subs in the price range. Your PSW505 is also a good choice. Polk subs rock!
