i talked to polk customer service and i am not getting any answers from them. does anyone know of any other ways to determine what the original driver was?

Further to my last post. The photos you posted match mine exactly, with the slight overlap of the woofer and PR. My 5s originally had the SL1000 Tweeters, which were Polk's version of the Peeless, and were used directly after they stopped using Peerless, or so I've read. Your 5s are most likely a year or two older than mine, but since your crossover matches mine, I'd go with the MW6500s.
