    Distance doesn't have a bearing unless we are talking extremes, which we aren't. Fifty bucks ? Lsi's-Rti12's, amps.....a 50 won't make a dent. Just saying is all, with some better cabling, you may get some better SQ out of those speakers. Just a suggestion is all, if you can't afford it, so be it. Keep an eye out on the used market, deals always pop up. Happy listening.
