My first concert was KISS in November 1977 at Capital Centre in Landover Maryland. My father took me and my brother. I was 14 yrs old. Opening band was AC/DC!

I have been to so many concerts since but will always remember my first one:smile:

Smashing Pumpkins August 14th 1993 at The Metro in Chicago. I too was 14 my best friend's older brother snuck us in since we weren't old enough to get in. I thought it was the coolest thing EVER. I never really got into the Pumpkins but fell in love with the Metro and the Chicago music scene that night.

I have yet to watch the recently released dvd of the show. I definitely need to check that out.

    J. Geils, Love Stinks tour, Bahstahn Gahden, April, 1980. A 90 minute intermission, due to technical difficulties, they made up for, by playing 2.5 hours.
And for a high energy band, that's a long time.

First Concert was VH in 1984. I was Eleven and my Sister took me. It was April fools day. Great show. Did I mention Alex is the reason I play the drums. I am pretty sure Autograph opened for them.

President's of the United States of America . . . What can I say, it was age appropriate at the time . . . they sucked compared to the live Zeppelin and Santana shows my Dad had me listening to since I exited the womb.

God, sometimes I envy people your age. That is too cool. I once sat front row center at a Santana concert. That was about as close to the 60s music as I will ever get.

THAT is a concert I would like to have seen!

I guess my first concert was Dio on the Dream Evil tour around 1986 or so. Wish I could have see Stevie Ray Vaughn back in them days.

Van Halen, during their Diver Down tour in 1982 at NVMC.

Can't remember who opened for them though...
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

My brother took me to a fest at the Iowa City fairgrounds, a bunch of smaller bands, and Everclear. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was supposed to headline, but they didnt make it, so Everclear played for HOURS, and invited the whole crowd on stage near the end, very cool first show. I was also around 14, and enjoyed my first time crowd surfing!

    Jealous.

My first concert I'm sad to say... was Godsmack back in '07. I saw them for free cause they played in the facility I worked in at the time. Was always too poor growing up to have the privilege to go to a show.

    Show was great though.

I saw Grand Funk here in lil ol Sierra Vista, Az last year---they f'n rocked. They have 38 specials lead singer as a front man now. I think everyone else was original members. The drummer belted out "We're an American Band" just as well as he did 30 years ago. I was amazed at their performance.
