I thought I moved away from all the snow when I left Denver!

Gadzooks!! Forcast of up to 16" of snow here in Seattle! That's more than 4 times are annual average and really is going to create a mess. Might have to try and finish up the garage and computer room:mrgreen:

Getting a nice, rare snowfall here in Portland. If things line up right we'll get 8 inches tonight and a snow day tomorrow. WooHoo!

You need to move to Ohio.

We've usually put about 80 hours each on our season passes for the local ski hills here by now in mid-twenty degree weather. I'm at zero and my son went once and left after half an hour due to almost no natural snow and high temps keeping them from making any. It's been 40 and higher most days in December and January.

At lunch I just saw 2 runners pass by in wife-beaters and shorts. It's pushing 60 and the dusting of natural snow we had last week is long gone.

So, that's where all of our snow is! Same as Inspired, we haven't even broken out the winter coats yet on this side of Ohio either.

Had maybe 2 inches over the past 2 days, but forecast calls for another few tonight...

And this is in the Valley. It goes to show how crazy the weather is when we get snow down here.

I enjoy it when it snows here in Portland. So damn funny to watch everyone in a panic..

ZOMG! A snowflake! Quick.. shut the city down, put chains on everything, get to the store and stock up on supplies, etc..

People around here are already bad enough drivers.. add some snow into the mix and they can't function..

Remember that flash snow storm we got a couple of years ago? Pushed up from the south just before rush hour and stopped everything? I stayed at work for a number of hours until the worst of the madness died down. I kept to back roads on the way home and saw cars in the ditch standing vertical on their rear bumpers.

    That takes talent!

Yep! If our friendly USA neighbours miss the snow that badly, we could call on the big men up above so he can share our Canuck wealth of the white stuff along with the cold weather! For us in Canuck land, a few inches of snow is simple dust and would never be considered as a storm. We sure could share what real storms are all about. My back has not recovered yet from the last weekend battle with snow and yet, as I type we are being attacked again with another storm. Not sure, this morning the forecast was snow, freezing rain but hopefully we might be able to settle with a simple snow dump (yet I know the prairies can be worse than here in Ottawa, Ontario). Hard to keep our igloos in order with this extra work...

^^ I always like to bring up windchill for a conversation piece.

Right now (if converted), the temp here is a -11F. Factor in the windchill and it feels like -31F outside right now. This is considered cool to us here. I remember going out for a smoke back in 2005 when it felt like -63F Go do the celsius conversion on that. It was a cold day.

As much as I hate the snow , I love watching it come down , I actually like to drive in it when it's still coming down. It's also nice to sit with a blanket in a window watching it.

The only snow I want to see is on TV. I have lived in the snow belt much too long. Being on Lake Erie, we can really get dumped on. Usually the only people that say they like it are from warm climates. Thats is because they don't have 6 months of the crap!

I don't do snow, not only is it bad for you it is expensive and would interfere with my audio budget. There's a lot more snow in Miami than Key West so that's nice. How the heck can you afford 16 inches of snow, and what kind of measurement is that? Ya'll must be some rich A$$MFerz. And to show off you cover your cars and streets in it? Wow, down in Miami they just put it on a hoochie momma's rear and try and chase it while they shakes it.

Just stop doing snow and upgrade your speakers instead, you will be glad. Snow is bad IMHO.

14" of snow in Seattle? Hmmmm... I don't think we've had that much 'total' in Maine yet. It will get down to zero or below, temp wise this evening though. I bet you don't get down there much.

But the snow has been extremely light so far this year, well below our normals. I've got at least a half dozen snow shovels...we could send one your way as a "karma". lol

Hopefully all that will melt soon. Where we are things usually don't melt once they get going! Even it's a few inches its there forever, almost!

Break out a scotch or cognac and listen to mantis, but do stay 'decent'.

Was a nice brisk walk into the office today. Do some conversions for you all...

Current temp (In F): -18.4 F, Feels like with windchill, -38.2 F. Was pretty similar in temps yesterday when I went out. Very happy my ol girl started up without being plugged in or used in 3 full days of cold.

It was a "Real Feel" of -30 (Yes, Negative) with an actual temperature of -14 degrees. Wind was blowing around 20-30MPH, and we were brought around 4 inches of snow, and another inch of ice. That was just the other night.
This is on top of our already 5 inches of snow, and under the snow 2-3 inches of ice.

That's the problem...Here in the Seattle/olympia area this much snow and cold is not usual, hence the whining and general ickyness of getting around. I lived in Denver for 35 years so its not too bad to me, except maybe for the intense amount of ice which of course we did not get much of in dry Denver:mrgreen:

Trees are snapping and falling left and right around here. Luckily, nothing has hit the house. We lost a maple in our yard already and the smaller trees are all bent severely toward the ground covered in ice.
