Not yet, but they will. Something like a 50$ brokerage fees... and another 50$ in duties and such fees. I could clear it myself, I guess, but it would require a lot of time... I'll probably try, but yeah, there is some means to avoid those fees, well at least the ridiculous brokerage fees. As for duties and taxes, we gotta pay.

I have never had an issue with paying the taxes and duty when applicable. But I agree, the ridiculous fee's UPS charges for processing and brokerage is silly. USPS does it for $8.

Price of the new LSi 7's are awesome with that code. Just not in the cards right now.

Yeah, that's what I think... Tax are tax. However, a 50$ fee to clear a 350$ item, when it takes no more time than a 10$ item, it's kinda lame. I might understand for high value goods (1500$+), but for low cost or everyday items, yeah, that's lame. Too bad most US sellers has a deal with UPS. At least, I got free shipping (+-50). My only issue right now is for warranty work: I guess I'll have to ship it back in US if something ever go wrong.

Anyways, I was lucky somehow. My mother is buying my old 2.1 setup with AVR so they can have their own HT. Then, I had enough money to switch to a new amp + dac + new speakers. Otherwise, I wouldn't have done it.

Cherry LSi's new batch from Acoustic Sound Design should ship today or tomorrow, as the owner told me. Ebony color are supposed to arrive tomorrow, so it might end being shipped next week ... and don't judge me for choosing Ebony, I have dark brown/chocolate furniture...

Man, I'm tempted. I've lusted after the LSis for years, now their with in reach, I have eyes for the LSiMs. I'm thinking about paring the LSiM 704c with the LSi15s and LSi/Fx surrounds. I'm curious if the 705s are that much better than the 15s. It looks like I might have to spend 900 bucks to satisfy my curiousity.

Well, my guess is that they are better, or else it wouldn't make sense. However, do they worth twice the LSi MSRP if you're on a budget? I don't think so. However, the LSiM are 8 ohm, if that matters... Still, I think the LSi line looks neat and I may be the only one to prefer their look to the new LSiM.

Go go everyone! Get your LSi's when there is still stock left. Sure, it isn't the best deal ever, but it's great IMO... :D 950$ for a pair of brand new LSi15 and something like 360 for brand new LSi7. Accoustic sound design ships free of charge to Canada by the way.

    http://www.sounddistributors.com/

    Coupon Code TV15 for a 15% off!

I do not know if they use the same warehouse or no, so as some people said, it's now or never! If there is none left on the first website, try the second one, same offer.

    Have a nice day!

Had an online chat and it seems it is free ship to canada but no discount

Even at acoustic sound design? Probably they though about it after they sold my pair... I knew it was too much of a deal with both free shipping and 15% off to last long.

    I don't think so... ;)

I asked @ Sound Distributor, and they didn't want to give me both free shipping and 15%, which was fair. I emailed @ Acoustic Sound Design, he said that he would offer me both, so I ordered without thinking a few seconds later. As he told me so, he couldn't retract his offer so fast. But yeah, I knew something was not right. They probably didn't make a lot of money with my order.

I don't know what polk does during the refurbishing process, but I like it. The speakers appear to be brand new with registration information still sealed in the plastic bags. If you've always wanted LSis, you should definitely consider the ebay store. Get your speakers now and your amp later. Polk LSis are as far down the rabbit hole that I'm willing to go. Well, until I start bugging the mod guys.

If I get another set, I will go the re-furb route too. Let's face it, if it doesn't break in the first year, they won't break for a long while, unless you do something utterly stupid.

I wish the LSiF/X were a little less than $600. I would scoop a pair in a heart beat. Right now I am breaking the golden rule of running 4ohm speakers with 8 ohm speakers off the same receiver, which I recently learned is not the best idea. Then again, maybe buying a monoblock to run the center might be the cheaper route to fix my mismatched speaker issue...

I think it's worth comparing before going with refurb. You can actually get some of the LSi speakers cheaper buying new through Sound Dist using the discount code (TV14). The LSi9s are about $90 cheaper buying new, and the LSi7s are about $40 cheaper buying new. The 15s are about $84 more new, but I personally would rather spend that to have new with the 5 year warranty.

I see now that Sound Dist is selling the LSiC on Amazon for $399 and the LSiFX for $625/pair. You'd need to call them directly to see if they'd sell these speakers without them being part of a system. If they will, and if they will let you use the TV15 (15% off) coupon code, then their prices for the LSiC and LSiFX are cheaper than buying refurb from the Polk eBay store.

Hi! Do you have a 4 ohm capable amp? If you do, how much power does it have? If you're over 200w per channel at 4 ohm, I would say, get them as they will be, IMO, a huge upgrade. The tweeter alone is worth every penny as it is detailed and smooth at the same time. I upgraded from the RTi line and I would say that I'm pleased with the results. The RTi had most things right, but the LSi tweeters are way smoother and revealing, which is better for music: for my tastes at least. If you're listening to jazz, vocal, instrumental/accoustic, you'll really like them as they can make them sound "magical". If you enjoy hard rock/metal, they still do well at kick bass because of the larger woofer, but they can sound congested on certain passages. Still, they're incredible speakers at this price IF you have a 4 ohm capable amp.

However, if you only have a receiver (even a high-end one), I wouldn't recommend the LSi series as most receivers could be damaged if they power a 4 ohm speaker for too long/too loud.

pyrocyborg,Yes i have mono blocks and at 4 ohm they will push out 350 watts. Also i will be using a H/K3490 as a Pre-amp with a Polk sub 505.I am going too order them today getting them for $935 a pair and free shipping.I have been wait for about a year too upgrade and had my eye on these for sometime and the price is killer on them right now.I spoke with a ASD salesman over the phone about 20 minutes ago he told me that they bought out all of Polks stock on these something like over 3 thousand pairs. They are new in factory sealed box and come with the 5 years warranty on them.

I think you're going to love them. I've been running two pair of LSi15s for front & surrounds now for a few weeks and they sound fantastic. I'll be ordering the LSiFX for the back channels later today. Just need to figure out how I'll fit them into my small-ish livingroom!

Exactly, I bought y LSi7 from them and I couldn't be happier. Free shipping to Canada +15% off; They even lowered the Duties values to help with UPS brokerage fees. I didn't know they had that much stock though! As they are authorized online dealers, you get 5 years warranty. The speakers I received were, as you said, brand new. Buy with confidence.

If you ever end not liking them, you can sell them back with a minimal loss on CL, but I'm kinda sure you'll like them as you'll have plenty power to make them happy and as the HK3490 is a very good mid-level 2ch, I'm sure the pre portion is quite good.

Hey folks...the prices for the LSi15s on Amazon (from Sound Dist or Acoustic Sound Design) just dropped from $549 to $524 each. Not sure if the price drop would carry over if you order directly from SD or ASD, but it'd be worth calling them to check. And don't forget the TV15 discount code for an extra 15% off.

My LSiFX just shipped today. Can't wait to see & hear those puppies!

Hi everyone, the price for the LSi15s just dropped again. On Amazon they're now down to $475 each, or directly through Sound Distributors they're $950/pair, then with the TV15 15% off it comes to only $807.50/pair with free shipping. Wow! That's stinkin' cheap for such great speakers! I've been running my two pair of LSi15s for a couple of months now as mains and surrounds and the sound is fantastic. Watched 'Gladiator' again the other night and it felt like I was in the Colosseum with the cheering crowds thundering around me.
