Its now or never. Your not going to find them for this price anytime soon, especially still with a warranty AND free shipping. Shipping is normally what kills the 15's from getting sold, that or they get shipped and get damanged in process.

I LOVE my 15's personally and while the 9's are nice, I dont see my 15's going anywhere EVER!

You are talking about the ebay deal for $850 with free shipping, right? Your post may be the straw that breaks the camels back... lol! You definitely have some convincing ability, cuz you're right, the lsi's are a comfortable place to stop wanting more/better. My 9's have definitely shown me that.

If you miss the LSi15 ebay deal, then I'd suggest looking at and reading reviews on the Mirage OMD-15 speakers. The Rosewood color is $400 each at Vanns right now, MSRP of $1250, and the reviews on the OMD-15s have consistently been incredible.

I'm using the OMD-5 speakers with a sub in a small 2 channel setup, and they are among the best sounding small speakers I've ever heard, but then, I'm partial to the Mirage sound -- wider sweet spot because of the design, no shrillness or metallic notes in the highs, very open and engaging, easier to position well in oddly shaped rooms.

But of course, your other option is to search Audiogon and craigslist to see what you can find in your budget. $1000 in used speakers opens you up to all kinds of possibilities.
    5.1 theater - Pioneer SC-07, Mirage OMD-CC center, 4 x Mirage Omnisats, Boston Acoustics VPS-210 sub
2.1 living room - NAD 7400 integrated, 2 x Platinum Audio Duos, MIT Terminator4 cables
    2.1 bedroom- Arcam Solo, 2 x Mirage OMD-5's
FOR SALE - Genesis Servo-10 sub, Genesis Servo-12 amp; Martin Logan Dynamo sub; Mirage MM-6 sub; Harman Kardon DPR-1001 7.1 receiver

LOL. You're not alone. I just bought a second pair of Lsi7s. I didn't plan on doing a full 5.1 Lsi set-up, but at $339 (new, authorized dealer, no tax, free shipping) I couldn't resist. Haven't told the wife yet.

Yeah...$339 for the LSi7s is a killer deal. (BTW, that's cheaper than the Polk eBay store selling refurb!) Looks like there's only a few left. My second pair of LSi15s arrives today...to match my LSi15s in front. Then my LSi7s move to the back--if I can make room for them somewhere. I almost bought Polk in-ceiling 80F/X-LS back in December. They were $899 retail, and the price kept dropping on Amazon...hit $179/pair and disappeared before I could snag them.

Speaking of too much gear...now I need to sell my extra pair of LSi7s (new), two PSW111s, and perhaps my beloved Polk RT7s with matching stands...oh, and a Klipsch Icon WC-24 center. Crazy. I'm surprised my wife still lets me stay in the house!

Hey...just found out from the guy at Sound Distributors who sold me my LSi15s that they just negotiated a deal with Polk and got their last shipment of new speakers -- including LSi25s, LSi15s, LSi9s, LSi7s, all in Cherry as well as Ebony. (Dang! I just bought my second set of 15s and would have loved to get the 25s!) They also have the LSiCs and LSiFXs, but it looks like they're selling those only as part of systems. He said when these are gone, then that's it. No more new LSi speakers. You can still use the TV15 coupon code at sounddistributors.com and get an additional 15% off.

Okay, I'm done! I've spent way too much time (and money!) on this stuff. I think Solomon said something about the eyes of man are never satisfied...and if I keep thinking about this gear too much, I'm going to want to sell or return my 15s and go for the 25s. Time to put on a good movie and enjoy the sound!

With all the talk of the LSi's I think I may buy a pair from Polk's Ebay store. I have one question regarding connection. Can someone tell me how these are powered. I'm guessing my power amp just plugs in the + and - side of things and they fire up. The Line Level input throws me for a loop though. Will the built in subs still perform without the line level connected?

Are they a significant upgrade to my current RTi12's?

The subs in the LSi15s are powered by your main amp using the standard + and - speaker terminals, although there are two sets so you can bi-amp them. There is no line level input on them. I'm running two sets of LSi15s (as of today) and they sound great...rich, full spectrum surround sound. Just make sure you have the power to run them as they're 4Ω speakers and they like lots of power.

I think they'd be a good upgrade from the RTi12s...but maybe someone who has had more time listening to and comparing both could give you more input on that.

Not sure I'd buy refurbished from the eBay store with 2 year warranty when you can get brand new with 5 year warranty for ~$40 more for the pair, shipped. The price on the LSi15s today, with the TV15 coupon code via Sound Dist, is about $60 less than what I just paid for mine about 3 days ago. Oh well.

The LSI 15's aren't powered. Just hook them up the same way as your RTI 12.

Didn't realize the Polk eBay store raised their prices on the 15s. They were $850 shipped, now $1000... vs. $891 at SD. Wow, what a deal.

    Call Polk eBay store...
I sent them an email and they asked me to call them back. They will do the $850 deal over the phone with credit card. But I went with Sound Dist. is mainly because I believe they're are new with 5 yrs warranty as opposed to B-stock with 2 yrs warranty at eBay store.

So my LSi-induced insanity has officially taken control!!

I received my second pair of LSi15s (bought from Sound Design) four days ago...so I now have LSi15s for fronts and for surrounds. The sound is simply amazing when watching movies. Besides the crystal clear highs and mids, the 15s deliver a very full base with their built-in subs...so that rich sound just envelopes you and fills the room, even at low to moderate volumes. (I don't play them at high volumes anyway...because they aren't broken in, and because my family would break me in if I did!)

My only regret is that when I purchased my 15s, the only option at the time was Ebony...and all of the furniture in our living room is cherry. So my insanity has taken hold and I'm actually looking at selling both pairs of LSi15s and buying the 15s in cherry instead. In a way it seems ridiculous...but I figure I'm going to be living with these speakers for the next 10-20 years, so I want to get the ones I really want. (And I refuse to even look at the LSiMs lest I be tempted!)

Unfortunately, I can't list them in the FS section of the forum since I'm still a newbie here. But if you're in the Sacramento CA area, you should be able to find me. [I'm hoping it's okay to even mention this. If not, please let me know and I'll edit my post. Thx.]

I also like the cherry but my wife really insisted on Ebony because the tv is black and the floors were not cherry. The thing about wood is that it is really hard to match. I tried to match hardwood floors and it was virtually impossible. Eventually we just decided that it was better to choose something that is obvioulsy different so it didn't look like we tried and failed.

As long as you don't have a wife giving you a hard time about it (my wife would leave if I tried to put 4 floorstanders in my living room) I'd say forget it. You have a system that most would die for. Crank t up and don't worry about the furniture. There is a good chance that you won't be able to match it correctly and then you'll be really frustrated.

    Just my two cents..

Thanks for the input. Very true! I forgot to mention that although everything in our living room is "cherry"...it's all different shades of cherry, so I'm not really trying to match the exact shade. That would be nearly impossible to do. I have some cherry LSi7s and really like the look and the finish. The ebony is an open grain wood whereas the cherry is a sealed (more refined) finish. I know this is all really silly. If I get no reasonable offers on my two sets of LSi15s, then I'll be living with my beautiful ebony speakers and I'll be happy. (And I'll probably order a set of ebony LSi7s and sell the cherry 7s, so at least I'll have a matched set.) Just figured I'd give it a shot. :)

Oh, NewHTguy...re: "my wife would leave if I tried to put 4 floorstanders in my living room"...I must say, it is a bit much having four 15s in the living room! Our home is certainly not one of those "Home and Garden" type homes with perfect decor. But at least the LSi15s are beautiful speakers.

This is Club Polk...... there is no "bit much" here

I have been contemplating adding another set of cherry 15's to my current ones

The speaker placement with the LSi15s or the 25s is very important. If you're using the LSi15s for your front speakers, the subs should be facing to the outside and the ring radiators should be facing in.

If you're using the 15s for your surrounds...well, I think it's a little more of a judgment call. I actually talked with a Polk tech support guy about it, because I'm using a second set of 15s for my surrounds (but not as the rear speakers). Typically, you reverse the placement for the surrounds, so the left channel speaker would go on the right, and the right on the left. But I didn't do that for my 15s as surrounds because they are still in front of most of the seating positions in my room. If in doubt, you can always call Polk and talk to their tech support folks. They are very helpful.

Go go everyone! Get your LSi's when there is still stock left. Sure, it isn't the best deal ever, but it's great IMO... :D 950$ for a pair of brand new LSi15 and something like 360 for brand new LSi7. Accoustic sound design ships free of charge to Canada by the way.

Not yet, but they will. Something like a 50$ brokerage fees... and another 50$ in duties and such fees. I could clear it myself, I guess, but it would require a lot of time... I'll probably try, but yeah, there is some means to avoid those fees, well at least the ridiculous brokerage fees. As for duties and taxes, we gotta pay.

I've bought from both and have been told by the reps that work there that they are the same company. But I assume they keep their inventory separate. They've both been great to work with. I think Sound Dist got the bulk of the last shipment of the LSi speakers. That last batch wasn't expected and it provides a great last chance to grab up some LSi's before they're gone. With that coupon code, the prices for the LSi line are...
    - LSi25s - $1490.02/pair <but there's a $100 shipping fee because they're so heavy>
    - LSi15s - $934.15/pair
    - LSi9s - $509.15/pair
    - LSi7s - $361.25/pair
    - LSiC & LSiFX - not sure; you have to buy those with other speakers.

I love my LSi15s...but if I needed another pair of bookshelf speakers, I'd grab the 9s. I'm really tempted to grab a pair. I'd love to have them to use as rear speakers in a 7.1 setup...but I don't think I could fit them in my living room. My family thinks I already have too many speakers out there. (What, just because I have four LSi15s to go with my LSiC and PSW505?? Oh, I forgot about the two pair of LSi7s stashed in the bedroom! Can you tell...I'm a big LSi fan?)
