Well, its been awhile since i posted any chit chat type stuff.
After losing mine and my wifes mother this year, we found out my wife debs cancer had not only returned for a 4th time, but had spread to her bones, and her pelvis had been broken in 2 places for app. 4 months.
They arent sure if the breaks were solely the cancer or a combo of that and side affects of her previous chemo.
She went through about a month of horrible pain last summer, but xrays did not show anything, later xrays showed clean breaks.
You can imagine what all this has done to her.
Even though she is the strongest, sweetest person i have ever known, you can only take so much.
I have tried to just be there for her, listen, cry, research her options, and help her hope in the face of such a terrible challenge.
i know i have asked before, but we have never needed your thoughts and prayers more.
We are slowly getting back to some aspects of normalcy, for me its kinda getting back into audio.
This is a pic of me, deb, and my late mom last christmas
Hope you all had a great holiday season, and the best of new years, and thanks in advance.

Prayers sent man. Hope you can get those dcms. I know music has helped me heal with my issues. I hope audio can help do the same for you both."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." "I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

My mom has won 5 bouts now with cancer, though thankfully none like what Debbie is facing now. I do know that there are brilliant treatments, and doctors out there that can help her fight this, but her biggest weapon in the fight is going to be you. It will be your strength that gives her the courage to fight this demon, and your love that get's her through regardless of the outcome of her treatment. Someone mentioned some speakers earlier in the thread, and though a good tune or two can help, it is the music that comes from the heart that must be listened to now.
I don't want my post to be seen as heavy or dark, but at the same time, I understand the road ahead. You two can get through this, hand in hand, and step by step. The most important is to find humor in everything and smile at every moment you can. God bless you both, and I shall pray for the very best to come your way.The Gear... Thanks to all of you, your words and thoughts are a blessing.
Deb says thank you.
After 42 years of confirmed bachelorhood, met debbie AT THE DR.S OFFICE, three months later, we were wed under the dogwood tree outside the courthous in benton tenn.
We have lived in a whirlwind since, Her sicknesses, our moms decline and passing within a few months of each other, but I only wish everyone could laugh as much as we do, we were truly meant for each other.
My parents grew up here in the north georgia mountains, moved to atlanta in 1960 to find work.
When i was about 10 years old, we visited charlie dunn and his wife, sitting under the huge willow tree, looking out at his fields and i was thinking what a neat place to live.
30 years later I drove to pick up deb for our first date....It was about an eighth of a mile down that same road, at the house her grandpa built, under granny maur mountain, never had a mortgage, together we have updated most of it, and i have given her the gardens I promised her when we first got married.
sorry to ramble, but tell me something was not at work in our lives, bringing us together,I am blessed to walk with this special person in life, through everything, and i am blessed to know people like you, even through this method.
Please let me know more here about your loved ones who are suffering
If you feel comfortable with pics, feel free, if not just give names and we will send prayers and give to prayer circles around here.
And again, thank you all.

My mom was told in 1973 that she would not live to see her son's 10th birthday. The cancer she had was lymphatic and could not be cured. Her doctor was unable to do a thing. About a month goes by, and all I remember is her tears, that never seemed to stop.
She got a call from another doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Mn, telling her she would be a perfect fit for a new trial that would combine two treatments into one for the very first time for those with her type of cancer. Radiation/chemo combination treatment was very new then, and they wre doing experiments with it for several different types of cancer. It worked, but three years later, it came back with a vengence, attacking the other side of her neck.
She went back for more treatment. I never knew my mother had lost all her hair, until I found an old wig in her closet several years later. by this point, she was +9 years on her two years left. Since then she had ovarian cancer, and her nose removed for another tumor. She said she always hated her nose anyway and wanted a new one, which the best PS doctors worked for more than a year to give her.
The cancer that she has now was caused by the radiation that saved her life 4 decades ago, and has resulted in her being on a permanent feeding tube, and just last month, fitted with a trach, that will be with her for the rest of her life. In all her trials, I have never seen my mother as weak, though she tried once to give up by her own hand. I have learned more about how to enjoy what you have than to live for your wants. I have learned strength, and how to embrace the moment, and to truly live within them. Her life has been a gift, as were it not for her team of doctors, I would have lost her 38 years ago.
She is now called patient zero in medical journals that have chronicalled her life, and in medical circles she is the stuff of legend. All those that were part of those trials are long dead... John Wayne, Hubert Humpfrey... Reza Phalavi, the last Shah of Iran were all in the program, though she only met the Duke when she was there.
She is and always has been my hero...The Gear... When it comes to Cancer, it's a very touchy topic for me. I don't feel like sharing my story... but rest assured your wife is in my thoughts.
Every year I compete in Dragon Boat races for Cancer research. I've done this for a few years now as Cancer runs in my family and it's my way to contribute my time and healthy self in the fight against cancer. Good on you for staying by your wife's side. And good on her for continuing the fight.
Your both in my thoughts. -

So sorry she has to deal with this again. Medical treatments are hugely important in putting cancer in remission, but the heart and mind have amazing healing powers too. You're lucky you have each other to get through this.
