Stay tuned guys. I'm working with Polk Audio Engineering wizards Mark Suskind and Stu Lumsden to HotRod a pair of RTiA1 Bookshelf loudspeakers for a Free Xmas Karma. This will be exclusive to us here on Club Polk and you'll be receiving a very cool, modified Polk loudspeaker. I'll be doing the custom board work based on their recommendations by hand.

I've also spoken with Richard Colburn of Audience(Auricap) and they will be providing the components for the xover upgrade.

Audience supplied us with a power conditioner at the recent Capital Area Audiofest and it was absolutely wonderful and sonically a big help. I'll get more information on the exact model as I forget.

Hopefully this will get you guys excited and I'm looking forward to doing the build.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Not to change the subject, but is Mark Suskind related to erstwhile Dean (and Prof of Biology), the late Sigmund R ("Sig") Suskind of JHU? I am thinking that he might be.

If I am just out in space - now's a good time to tell me so!

Thanks. Cool concept, back on topic.

Not only is this a neat Karma...I smell a possible Rti-A upgrade in our 'future', i.e. Rti-AM1s? It would be interesting if the mods ended up actually helping spawn a 'new' model!

In any case, I really like my Rti-4s in the bedroom and would be only too 'happy' to have the upgraded/modded A1s replace them?

    Look forward to it!

UPDATE: This is officially a go and they will also be autographed by the main brains behind the entire RTiA lineup, Stu Lumsden and Scott Orth, of the Orth Order Xover fame.

Only the nerds will get the Orth Xover comment but needless to say, it's a new patented assembly by an in-house super nerd, Scott. You can read some of the data behind this in the product pages. The Orth in the generic writeup is an actual person that you can throw pencils and shoot spitballs at....how cool is that? If you want to know more about the Orth Xover, let me know.

As if it wasn't already a neat pair of speakers, you get signatures of the actual designers!!!

Hmmmm, I may have to see what else I can round up....maybe speaker cables? Maybe MIT speaker cables?....damn, after that I'll have to find some electronics. At that point I will probably be dead in the water as I only have connections for SOME things, not everything. I'lltry my best to make even more happen and make this an even better Karma but cannot guarantee this. Just the speakers and sigs alone are super exclusive, please get behind this guys....we're working very hard to make this happen.
