Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Guy and Gals,
I am simply blown away that I was in the running, let alone the winner. I am quite honestly humbled by this. Actually it?s quite unbelievable since there are so many good, no great, people on this forum. I know I can be abrasive sometimes because my approach is to be direct and to the point. I have a lot of my own opinions about this hobby, strong opinions. But it comes from a deep passion for music and this hobby, having been in and around audio almost my entire life. I am passionate about the hobby and sometimes my passion comes across as being insincere or harsh to certain individuals. I apologize if that's the case.
And finally I have a huge love for SDA?s and I think current Polk products are innovative and still offer tremendous value, as well as better than average sound for all levels of this hobby.
I truly appreciate this recognition and I am proud to be part of one of the best audio/hobbyist sites on the internet. FTR, my vote was for George Daniel whom I feel is one of many helpful, standup people here. In reality I could have voted for any that made the list.
Thanks again to everyone, I am honored.
--Brock"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -

I almost missed this.
Congrats Brock!
I know that your posts on this site are partially responsible for some of my equipment choices over the years, and I've learned a lot...especially about Nelson Pass. Which is a 'good' thing!
Larry, kudos to you as well for almost winning it. That choice also makes a lot of sense to me; after that last rack project I thought you were a shoe in for the prize? So keep those coming and thanks for your work!
And to all a good night! Nah, I'm still on here for a while!
