Man I went to walk into my video game room on saturday and I forgot that I had the bdroom closet door off for repair .I went to walk into the dark room and head butted the closet door sending it crashing into my polk rti8's and ML encore center .The rti8 just scraped the crap out the sony dynaclear material. The screen just crumpled up like tin foil and lay there all mangled up to crap and my martin logan crushed pretty bad down the sides just like it was made of dust

The rti8's took the full brunt of the closet door assault and never had a scratch on them so I guess they are a tough speaker .Maybe polk should put a PFB proof sticker on them

I now need a new screen for the video game room so I had a look and found this on amazon .Its called the favi fixed frame screen and this weekend it went down from $159 to $96 .The reviews on it aint great but for the money I am willing to give it a try .I am an amazon prime member so I paid another $3 to overnight the delivery on it

I will post some my thought on this and what its like for anyone else that may be interested in a cheap screen under $100

What's your closet door made of, lead and explosives?

Any damage to the binding posts?

Sounds like you need to stay away from anything electronic, or alcohol for that matter.

Hope you get it all sorted out.

I will load up some pics later after work

The sony screen retracts into the rollers as its a floor standing model but due to the slightly metalic silver backing I think its never going to ever be good for movies as there is just to many sharp scrapes thats caused ripels at each side of the screen and one kinda puncture looking dent up top

It still might be good for an online shooter as the midles pretty good .Its a shame sony does not allow replacement material as you gota buy the whole thing .If I pull it up and check it out tomorrow and the metal has flattend out good enough I may put it up on a karma thread as its a shame to throw out a $450 screen

Edit : If anyone is curious that owns a PJ here . The sony dynaclear is just like a SI black diamond screen as it boosts the black levels and color contrast and works with the lights on

Eh, before you throw it out just put it on eBay with a very honest description of the problem. Someone may be willing to give you at least a LITTLE of your money back for a flawed product. Better than trashing it completely.

Sorry to hear you had a boo boo. See where my period is? It goes directly at the end of the sentence. That might be the first thing to fix, then everything will fall into place.

I hope and pray that you are not really a farmer (one of the most dangerous jobs). If you really are......stay away from the machinery, especially rotating shafts and PTOs. Somehow, I have a vision of you rolled up in a round bale!:afro

Anyways I was going to take some pictures tonight but just found out my new screens not coming till tomorrow now so amazon owe's me $3.99 for not giving me one day shipping

thanks for the heads up on the dynaclear. I never heard of it before but just watched some examples online. I have a normal one which was in my budget and was the right size, but I might give it a whirl down the road.

    good luck with your restoration.

I just ordered hard hats for my speakers.

Many followers amongst the kids, you never heard children learn and mimic the example their parents and elder gives them? ;) Mr. Bigbluelight, in a humoristic way your pic in post 25 is quite funny. PFB, (if you can take the humour) do you recognize your self in that pic? I wonder how you manage to get into that position? ;) I'm still waiting to see how that screen is damaged as depending on the damge it can potentially still be of some use.

I just rushed to menards before it closed to buy some plastic glues .I bought this JB weld and gorilla glue witch are both epoxy based and I hope they work with pastic on plastic or I'm f'd lol again

If I could post pics I could show you what happened
