List of current requests:

    Completed Changes
    1. Widescreen Version
    2. fix remaining blue rollover images
    3. new smilies  (add more to quick post?)
    4. Thread icons (envelopes bad)
    5. Hard to distinguish Karma/News/etc from regular threads.

I'll be tackling these as time allows. If you have more suggestions pm or post in the thread. I'll to update this list when I can.
    original post:

Hi Guys, I'll be switching over the forum to the basic red/gray theme that I've been working on. It isn't 100% completed, however it is at a point which I felt it was good to push live.

If you have any suggestions please vocalize them below. There are a bunch of small icons that are still blue and this is because they need new images. These will get fixed, hold tight for now.

If there are any suggestions for additional themes please let us know. Know that these will take time and we appreciate your patience.

Also, remember you can always switch back to the VB4 default theme by using the quick theme selector at the bottom left of the page in the footer. We will be keeping the multiple theme options on.

Where that selector is is where the Widescreen option was as well........Will the widescreen or not options be built into that so the list would be something like this:

      vb4 default theme
      vb4 widescreen
      red/gray theme
      red/gray widescreen
      comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

Mucho better, now I can actually discern bold from non-bold so I can see what are new posts and not new posts. Before with the bluish/gray I had to stare to see bolded print.

I normally don't chime in with these matters, but I really like this new design. Great work.

Please fix it so that whenever there is a list of posts that the topic is larger than than the name of the OP, stating date, time, etc. The topic should be the most prominent part of the listing IMO.

Little thing I noticed... links are not underlined until you mouse over them. Before, they would be underlined by default, so you could tell it was a link when you were browsing through the post. Now it just looks like the rest of the text.

When you say links do you mean links within posts? This hasn't been true for some time; i've had to manually underline links in my posts (using [ u ] tag) for a long time now....

      Looks good! but...

too much white for me. A lot of white space = a very bright computer screen.

Can you make the background a gray tone? (preferably dark gray)

I'm talking about the areas to the sides of the posts, between posts, and at the top and bottom of the page.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Great job Nick & Patrick! I did not want to get involved too early with comments since I knew you guys would be very busy trying to tweak the new REV but if you are ready now for our inputs...

Since I realise I am a priviledge guess of Polk audio on this site, I pretty well go with the flow (despite being an old **** that like most in that cathegory that have a bit of a hard time to get used to changes. ). However, my main concern was the fact that I had to work extra hard to see what I was doing (with or without glasses). Yet this seem to have improved greatly but could potentially still be improved. It is nice to be able to see who the posters are which was improved (but seems like someone is now complaining about it). Reading posts and typing replies is slightly better but could still be improved (perhaps whiter page and darker letters (contrast) :frown: ). Not as important but the emoticons don't mean much too me until I point at them to see which is which. Right now, I simply try to avoid them as it is too tedious for me to work with them (however, an humble comment is that those emoticons look rather chepo compared to the old version. )

Looks like our vision might be somewhat the same level. (don't mind the red face, I am getting used to where this one is located now.. ;) )
Definitely an improvement easier to read through posts now and looks better.
+1! This is hopefully the only area I hope I will focus is ease of reading, when the new REV was introduced, I really had vision issues to the point is was tirering and giving me headaches.

Patrick and Nick, thanks again for your hard work and coming up with improvements in such a short time. Now, we Polkies should do our part, be patient and encouraging! ;)

      Cheers!

Once you get the wide screen option, I would think the above would become a non-issue
