I've been a Audioquest dealer since 2006. Never heard of this wire. Tell me about your system and I will tell you if you need to upgrade your current Type 4 speaker wires.
Honestly the only upgrade you should consider from Type 4 is CV4 or CV8.

If you go through that site, they offer the CV8 speaker cables without DBS for $495. A heck of a deal in my book if you want Audioquest.

mantis, ever heard of indigo blue? audioquest has been around a while. indigo blue was my first upgrade from the original monster cable back in the 80's. gr8 was sold as discontinued cables around 2004.

thanks Jake, Dan, Marv and jbooker.
They came up on CL but the seller has not returned my message, so it might be a mute point. I was just interested in seeing if they were worth trying for <$100.
As far as my 'current system' that is kindof a 'complex' answer...haha
I am 'currently' using my DQ-10's (in mod protyping) on a Carver TFM-35 and using my B&K AVR 307 as the pre. (for simplicity sake) Sources are Comcast HD box, a Denon Pro Cd player and also a Carver SD/A-360, a Cambridge Audio DVD-99. I am a LSi9 I use as a Center. (right now with the DQ-10's since I am using a Vifa XT25 tweeter)) also have (2) CSi5 I use one as a center when using PA as Fronts....Also have Grant Fidelity tube buffer I throw in the mix from time to time..
sorry for the long answer..LOL..does that help?
    I also have: RTti55, RTA-8TL, Mon 7 Peerless, Mon10b w/ the 'good SL1000'..that I swap around from time to time...plus..hmm Mon 4, VS-25..and a few Optimus..another TFM-35, a B&K PT-3 pre, Carver CT-6 pre

Thanks for the link Jake, but I am not in a position to spend that much on speaker cables right now...

Marv: I saw those GBC. seemed like a decent $$ pair. Thanks

My own term for them..They sound as Good as the Peerless tweeters...(IMHO) I had another pair of SL-1000's that were much harsher, but these are enjoyable.

I had a pair of these in my two channel rig for a while. They are not a bad cable at all for the money. They are very smooth with great low extension but tend to be a little rolled off in the highs. If you are finding your system to be a little on the bright side these would have good synergy with bright to slightly neutral systems. I replaced these with CV-4s and overall the CV-4s were an improvement over the GBC, but the CV-4s don't have the low-end extension and weight of the GBCs. I eventually replaced my cables with ones that had the clarity, mids, highs, soundstage, and imaging of the CV-4s(better than the CV-4s really by a good bit) and the low end extension and weight of the GBCs.

Actually you probably can! The speaker cables I replaced my CV-4s with are JW Cryo Novas believe it or not. They are quite affordable at $10.00/ft with banana, spade, or both terminations. I really liked my CV-4s and in fact still have a pair as back up, but the JWs are in a whole different league of performance. At least they are with my system. I tried these with much skeptisicm at first because I have tried AntiCables before with mixed results. The JWs in fact use the same wire as the AntiCables, but JW adds cryo treatment and an intense burn-in regimen. I thought these were going to sound the same or similiar to the ACs, but I was wrong! The JWs are easily the best sounding cables I've ever heard in my system. DR. Cilantro here on CP has a pair of them for sale in the for sale section of the forumn. I highly encourage anyone to give them a try. They sound way better to me than my $500/pr CV4s. YMMV with your system and listening environment though, but for the price they are well worth a try.

Dan, did you have any suggestions regarding which speaker wires would work best for me? I listed my 'systems' above.

I'm thinking CV-8's would be the one for that system. If not at least CV-4. Both cables are fantastic and the best I have ever owned personally. I have used them on many higher end system with stellar results.
