Name that one piece of gear that you absolutely regret selling. That one piece you keep kicking yourself for letting go!

Let's keep it simple by following the theme below:

Speakers: Monitor Audio Silver RS6. One day I'll own them again. They were fantastic speakers.

my sonic frontiers gear....even by todays standards, pretty nice stuff. That was the last time I was into tubes. Marriage, kids, bills....you guys know the routine. Should have just stored it, but needed the cash.

Speaker wise, I've owned alot, plus almost all of Polks models including the big boys and am not married to any particular one, but right now, the legacy's are stayin' for a long time.

No reel to reel guys ? Owned a few, but none I wish I kept. Always had the lower end of the scale, but the nicer ones I wouldn't mind falling into these days.

This may sound stupid, way back, and I do mean waaay back, I had one of those magnavox consoles, with a pretty decent tube amp in it and a decent tuner, make fun of me if you will but that sucker sounded pretty darn good for what it was.

Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck. Sold it to pay my car insurance when I was much younger and pissed away my paychecks rather than saving and paying bills . It would probably get little to no actual use today but it would be fun to stare at and a great conversation piece.

Otherwise nothing else, as I have steadily moved up the chain I don't regret getting rid of past gear vs. what I currently have.

    H9

P.s. the piece I would regret getting rid of today would be the Pass Aleph 30. That will probably never leave even if I move up the Pass Labs ladder. It's that good and they don't come up for sale too often. The only thing I could see replacing the Aleph 30 is a pair of Aleph 60 mono's, but those are even more elusive and I'm not sure I could deal with twice the heat of the Aleph 30 in my listening room.

There certainly isn't anything "right" about it, that's for sure. But, you did answer the question. Hit Ebay I bet you can find one for less than $50 and be happy again. Well, as happy as an inexpensive EQ can make one

Hmm... I've had good experiences with 2 different Technics EQ's, most recently early this year when I sold my SH-8057. I thought it was a very solid unit. All the specs suggested so... so i thought.

Seems perhaps I can do better. I would certainly take the advice. Anything to combat the inefficient Pioneer EQ I dislike fiddling with.

Also, I haven't found a SH-8057 for less than $80 used when I DO find one. I sold mine for $100 back in January.

I would love to see Soundcraftsmen rise from the ashes, and the A5002 power amp re-materialize. I'd buy one in a hot second. Tons of power, tons of headroom, and a warm character to it's sound.

You need a real EQ, a parametric, Find a SAE 180 for around $50 on ebay, I have one, no pretty flashing lights, just more control than any graphic EQ, you get to adjust frequency, bandwith and level for highs and lows in both channels separately.

Many folks on here are agaisent any type of EQ,s Use of Loudness controls, that type of thing,, as it is not a pure responce, its thought of as having to use a band aid to fix something, At least, thats what ive been told,, But to each, there own, Ive personaly never used one in my home gear,, just the car,
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.
