I have another idea... Do your speakers already have hurricane nuts? If so use ball bearings that will fit in the hole!!!

That might work, and get you as close to a spike as you can get..

You could also drill pocket holes with a forstner bit, and install the hurricane nuts and machine screws like my original drawing. Make them deep enough so the tip of the spike, and a puck could fit. I believe the 2Bs have 1 1/2' thick bottom, or close to it.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. It has been months since I looked under the bottom side of these 2Bs. To be honest I don't remember exactly what they sit on other than remembering it is a small dome shaped plastic button. I don't know if they are held in place with a threaded hole or not. I will check it out after the holidays and let you know.
