Dcmartinpc - If you do get your xovers back, you can send them to a quality repair shop at Casa Del Doro. Actually, I have enough to do with Brgman....I'll renig on that offer.

Exactly why I am just asking for some communication. I have emailed several times since Monday and called and left a message at the number above today. I know he has earned the benefit of the doubt, but with as much money and property of mine that he has, I also think I deserve some communication. At least let me know my property is safe and that he needs a week or 2 to get everything done. I think I am being reasonable.

Don,, just out of curiosity,,where did you send your gear?AFAIK,Ben left the house in Georgia some time ago-I'm assuming that any gear went with him.I called and left a message with the number posted, and have not heard back.I spoke with jerryj12 this morning and he said that Ben had called him a week or so ago.If I hear back from the Aunt,,I'll let you know.

I sent everything to his Connecticut address. But at this point, we have no idea which property was involved. I do feel terribly for Ben and hope he comes out of this better for the wear. But those of us whose things he currently has defintely need some sort of clarification to know if we should worry or not. We may all be worked up over something that, in the end, will only cause things to be a little delayed. I am completely fine with him needing more time, but at least let me know my stuff is OK. If it isn't, I will need to start pursuing another course of action.

If he wasn't beaten while being rob and in the hospital, and just came home and found out he was robbed then he should have already contacted someone here. I mean he already told his aunt to post here "right?"

Anyone that has property in Bens posssession should have been contacted by now with a post like this popping up just to ease some minds..

Smells like a crock to me.

Ben needs to get off the dime and not hide behind an aunt or whoever. I'm also not buying a robbery. I mean, I SERIOUSLY doubt there are roaming hoards of stereo bandits roaming the streets. Hell, I was broken into a couple months ago....NONE of my stereo rig was touched....

I know Ben's got a lot going on and for that, I emphathize...however, he wasn't too sick to take people's gear and money....or go to the beach for that matter.

This guy is and continues to be a pimple on the a$$ of society.

AHHH! I wish I knew what Ben's voice sounded like!!!!!!!!!!! I just called and someone answered... I asked for Ben and they said, "Uhhhh, you have the wrong number" AHHH!!!! so either the number he listed was fake or it was him and he was LYING!!!!!!!

After the call I replied with the following text:

"This phone number is listed as a method to contact Ben Williams. He has my money and electronics. If this is not him, I apologize. But if you just answered Ben and lied to me, GIVE ME AN UPDATE!!!!!!!"

Now I am getting upset.... Now is the time to make it right!!!! LAST CHANCE!!!!

I'd say that you probably aren't the only person he is ducking. I'm sure that he is in arrears to more than just you.

So is this not a good time to ask him about the mid range drivers he has for sale in the FM? Seriously though, I hope things work out for those who are still waiting for their gear back.

First Joe and now Ben? I know times can be incredibly tough for some people, but this is just crazy. I guess when survival takes over all bets and reputations are off. Knowing Ben's health history and his proclivity to get himself in some jams, I would never have sent gear or parts to him...........but that's just me. Too much inconsistency in his life since he's been on this board.

Am I understanding that not only have people sent him money, but parts like x-overs, etc that are extremely hard to replace?

Sorry to all those involved this might turn into a cluster f........if it hasn't already.

If this really did happen to Ben, he is the most unluckiest person I've ever known.

Bingo! He has my SRS 2 crossovers. Basically I have 2 huge piles of firewood without them... And not to mention all the trouble it will cause with my wife!!! I will never be able to buy anything online or have anything modded again. Not after this colossal waste of time and money. I suppose he could still turn it around. That is all I can hope for.

Don, I don't think Ben is inherently deceitful, but when a survival instinct takes over and you don't have a support system in place everything else (like your word or communication, obligations, etc) goes out the window.

I am in no way making an excuse for his behavior as it's still wrong. It's just that I have known Ben and his problems, etc for awhile and this eventuality has been a long time coming.

Hopefully at some point in the future he can make things right and at the very least return the gear and x-overs. etc. If it were me at this point I'd offer to pay the postage just to get the parts back safe and sound. Who steals x-overs and parts?

I am also involved with this. I sent a Denon 2900 to be modded which included Opamps, new rca jacks, removal of video cards and installation of new laser in March. The caps were ESA on the outputs. This is referenced in the below post thread. Look at last page.

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89966

I was hesitant about this transaction, but with the positive ratings on this site and some discussions I went ahead. I hope this works out. Ben has my unit, my money including return shipping along with a Pangea power cord. This unit was in mint cosmetic condition and purchased off this site. Will be a significant loss >$650 if this ends badly.

I have been patient and am still hopeful for a positive outcome. Any updates or contact information about Ben's situation would be greatly appreciated.

When I first saw the for sale posting my heart took a jump, then after the reply I was reassured. Now with this latest posting I don't know what to think?

You would think with all the people Ben has blowing in the wind his Aunt would atleast step up and give a little more info about what happened and what's going on, etc. That right there seems a little suspect to me.

I'm not trying to pile on, but don't make a post about him getting robbed with absoultely no follow up. I'm telling you, something is fishy.

Why he would all of a sudden become the self proclaimed modder of Club Polk I have no idea. I've repaired two of his xover jobs already but kept that to myself. He's got no ability and like I said over a year ago, I wouldn't let him fix my toilet. You can't come back from this type of situation and his lack of communication speaks volumes to his character and the ridiculous reason that's posted here. He needs to lay down the crack pipe and you guys should start looking elsewhere for your gear cuz you ain't getting it back.

If I'm wrong, so be it, it doesn't change the fact he's ducking everyone intentionally and your a fool to do any business with him after this.

I am hoping I am wrong since I am involved, but it sure doesn't smell that way. If he proves me wrong, GREAT! I still will never send him anything else or buy anything from him ever again.

If this stuff is all true, IT REALLY SUCKS! But it takes 30 seconds to bang out an email or return a phone call to let me know he needs a little more time and that everything will be OK in the long run. I am not getting that at all....

I am not judging him, but he's had the benefit long before this all surfaced. The lack of communication is what's causing the accusations. Someone he knows has access to the forum and HE (Ben) should know the kind of crap this would cause by not communicating, atleast publically.

He'e been here long enough to know communication is the key, even if it's through a third party.
