Loudness switch... can I live without it?

The only time I ever used the loudness switch was in my bedroom when I was young and didn't want to wake the parents in the next room.
Since then i have grown out of it. Like others have said, it is a crutch or bandaid. -
I tuned my truck with the loudness on because the 2 db bass boost is easy to defeat such as a bass heavy song comes on the externall gain is within the adjustment and if something comes on w/low bass (like cars) I still have a punch without readjusting my eq and amp gain .
Plus it adds ?2 db? treble boost that brings out the tweeters wheras I would have to go into the deck menu to bump it up and thats a hastle ( for one song) .
But at home I cant see a use since my speakers are quite flat and and build my subs so a bass boost is not needed . -

good point I to have a "man cave" system w/out subs just a pair of ls50's and they like the loudness controll plus the onkyo gives good sound when its on night time mode .
