Actually looks like a pretty decent interior. And what kind of HU is that? Looks like it could be above average!

That truck was done by American Force, which specializes in big wheels for big trucks. They have done quite a bit of them and most of them look awesome. I love the new F350, and would own one if I were back there.

Manuals in smaller cars are preferable to me because you can better manipulate the sucktastic power band. Nets you better performance and mileage than the CVT or overly loose slushbox anymore.

Oh and you're gonna regret not having a truck. When I had my Thunderbird, I still had my Ranger but it was broken and needing repair that I could afford just yet. So it waited and there were a couple times I needed a truck and didn't have it. Pained me greatly and once I got it back up and running, I swore to myself that I would sell every other vehicle if I had to just so I could keep a truck in my driveway.

I have two now. Plus my "SUV" and the GF's "SUV". Plus my dad and brother both have trucks and live right up the street.

Almost bought a Fiesta.. but driving it, it felt very cheap to me. Like a pop can. And, unless you get the basest of base models, it's not as inexpensive a car as you think.

Ended up with a Kia Soul (the rodent box). I'd say I'm pretty happy with it, but I will always miss my trucks.

I couldn't think about getting a rid of a truck if you are handy and own a house. I know I couldn't live without it.

Two things you need for a house.

    1.) Ladder.

    2.) Truck.

Or the money to pay someone else to do it. IMHO

I am at a crossroads with my truck... the miles are racking up and my overall "need" if you will for a truck is diminishing and at this point I can buy a fuel efficient car, have a car payment and spend the same!

I am thinking the FIESTA in silver or gray... hatchback so if I do need to haul something I can accommodate most things I need to haul - thoughts?

I had an 05 F-150 that I had to part with when the economy went south. I loved that truck a lot, nice ride, quiet, etc. Killer on gas though. After being without a truck for a while I searched around and found a 2000 Chevy S-10 with the four cylinder, paid cash for it. I can do most of what I did with the larger truck but I get 23 to the gallon. The only thing I regret is that I didn't get one with the extended cab. So I now have the utility of a truck that I own outright that gets better gas mileage. Search around the deals are out there. Cheers.

Part of the consideration of getting a hatchback was also my dogs...

I plan to build a wood frame to cover the back, carpet it and put railing between the front and back for hauling stuff around and my dogs (I do alot of hauling product for the store I work for so this is a must)

So the back seat will hardly ever be used

I've missed my truck every since I got a Durango. I thought it would be the same but its just not as useful. I think its once your use to having a truck its really hard to go back. My 93; F-150 had tons of wonky little problems but the inline-6 was a monster, and never a problem with the transition.

Then I had a Ram 1500, its a farm truck now, and its been great too. Both are around the 120k mark. My houses normal rule of thumb 150 and done.

Plus so many people are making the same choice as you there are some great deals on trucks again.

My little xB can haul 2x4's, 10' ladders, 4x8's, many rolls of insulation, desks etc. Added a roof rack and can now haul things longer than 10 ft. I bet the xD can do all the same things. Try a manual transmission one, you won't look back, seriously. This was my first manual and for a small car like this it makes it so you can drive in any fashion. If you loose some weight the perfomance goes WAY up.

6 speed in my c30. Much more fun to drive and lots of control of the car. I hate driving an auto now.

The c30 has a huge power band though... inline 5cyl + turbo = fun

Could never go back to a car. Like the feeling of being higher and being able to see around most traffic (as I can being on two wheels). Can't stand not being able to scan way ahead and be prepared for whatever may come up.

Had my current Nissan Frontier since '06 (new) and have had zero issues with it. Unlike the Dakota I traded in that went though all kinds of stuff in the 8 years and 66k I owned it (since new as well).

One thing about cars is they are easier to park. My Frontier has a horrible turning radius.

    Hope you enjoy the Scion.

Finally!!....someone else agrees with me. My 07 Frontier, Crew Cab and ext bed turns worse than my fathers 8' bed Silverado...How the hell does that work?

Other than that, you will never see me buy anything other than a truck. Even when gas hits $5 a gallon! Just means no meatballs in the pasketti.

    You should. Makes a difference.

When I first got my truck, I was going to NLOC track rentals and people were putting me in their trucks to get them to break a time hurdle they couldn't quite get. I was 100-150 pounds lighter than most of the other owners and I was picking up 2-3 tenths for most people just because I was that much lighter.

Its all that hot air, kinda like helium.

A few hundred pounds off a heavy car yields a few extra tenths, but off an already light car with a small engine makes it a whole different driving experience. I started looking at weight to horsepower ratios of other cars and comparing them to mine and its amazing the cars which I can compare to with a 125hp car weighing in at 2010 pounds.
