Since you are handling this like an adult, what did upper management say when you approached them with I would hope was a very logical and persuasive agruement why all topics should be allowed?

I'm betting the only thing you have done to move your cause forward is whine about it on the forum with the general membership, who have no powers to do anything about it.

Why do you continue to troll this topic with logical fallacies?

Justin, just chill and take it easy.

Go start a thread about the relative merits of various speaker cables, that'll make everyone happy.

See that is the thing, I am chill. However, instead of someone calmly and rationally explaining why we don't have these things to the newbie, they attacked. Now I understand why we don't have these sorts of topics, It appears that as a group, some aren't capable of rational discussion of controversial topics without name calling and personal attacks.

Why not just answer a simple question? If this is so important to you I'd think you would be discussing it behind the scenes with someone who actually has the authority to change the rules, then I'd try to influence people and make friends and discuss my cause and it's merits rather than being a troll and trying to ruffle feathers.

Wrong. Instead of being adults and explaining why we don't have this sort of forum here, you attacked and resorted to name calling and talking down to.

it was explained, the past threads end in the hall of shame. Maybe you should research a little bit before you run your mouth off.

Please also show me where I attacked you and called you a name?

Another member called you a cry baby, so then you generalize and place that on everyone. Good job.

If you don't want to be here so badly and want your account gone why keep posting? No point and is counterproductive to your claim. Actions speak louder than words and your showing you're not a person of your own word.

I agree, it was explained later..., and I accept that explanation. And you are also correct, I didn't mean "you" specifically, it was "you" in general. That was wrong, I apologize. Yes, I am generalizing most in this thread because most are doing nothing but calling names and attacking instead of explaining. Thank you for taking the time to make it clear.

It was explained prior to your posting. See F1Nut #3, Amulford #11, and Cfrizz #13, you then came in at #14 and proceeded to claim after that, that no one explained it to you.

Its only your fault if you don't take the time to simply read the posts in the thread you are discussing, then arguing with people that no one explained it to you. Only yourself to blame for that.

If you don't care enough about it to leave then why ask for your account to be deleted? It really is highly illogical, "I don't care but in the mean time I want someone to delete me off this blasted site."

First, I asked for my account to be deleted a LONG time ago that has nothing to do with this topic.

Secondly, I don't consider the replies you cited as explanations, except for 13, which I will admit I missed before replying. I remember reading offtopic.com then hitting quote. I take responsibility for that and I apologize. That still doesn't justify the follow on attacks.

No, see, I actually DO know. I'm not going to post the answer either so that I can avoid giving you hints. I don't think you know and your avoidance and sending me to a woefully incomplete Wikipedia page is evidence of that.

What I think is that your argument for "free speech" has been shot down and since you can't just say ok and move on you have to resort to trying to pick apart arguments that are really quite sound. Even if they do seem to have a fallacy in them.

No, it doesn't. In fact, the Wikipedia page is very incomplete and actually wrong in a few spots.

I have other resources online that are much more accurate than that page. Again though, it's clear you don't actually know so I'll continue to challenge your statement.

    You have options though.

1.) You can just ignore me and leave this all alone
2.) You can actually tell us where you see a fallacy and what fallacy you see
3.) You can keep deflecting and subverting
4.) You can continue to foist your pseudo-intelligence off as actual intelligence by continually misusing the word "allude" when the context of your statement clearly intends to convey the meaning behind the word illude. Even though the word "illude" is considered obsolete.

You can choose one option, two options or all of them. It's up to you.

By the way, in case you were wondering, the definition of word allude (now with usage examples!):

    al - lude
    verb (used without object)
    1. to refer casually or indirectly; make an allusion (usually followed by to ): He often alluded to his poverty.
    2. to contain a casual or indirect reference (usually followed by to ): The letter alludes to something now forgotten.

Oh you got me, I meant ELUDES. My poor SW PA grammar gets the best of me sometimes. Oh you are good. But it does..., the point of me posting that page that is. It does elude you.

There are more options, but I will choose the one that has me stop replying to you (in this topic), and allows you to have the last word and make yourself look so smart. I am satisfied that you don't really know as much as you try to make it look like. I won't put you on ignore either, because I beleive that besides this topic, you probably actually usually have something useful or interesting to say.

What are the types of people that cause us to not have controversial topics here again? Oh yeah, you made that clear too. ;)

    People crack me up.

Instead of just leaving something alone we instantly argue about a topic that we know makes us argue.

And if you want to leave, leave. Don't make a fool of yourself in the process. If you never login again then you have in effect left. No need to let everyone know and then say you don't care.

    PS Bye, Bye

No, it's not me. This is my usual, cheery, magnetic personality! I try to stay out of the sensitive topics because my strong, blunt opinions usually offend someone's sensibilities.

I just find you entertaining. Like banging on the windows at the monkey exhibit in the zoo. They get so angry! Shaking their little fists in hateful, monkey rage while I giggle in glee at the display! Oh, little monkeys! If only you knew how little I feared you!

You should probably put me on ignore 'cause I will make it a point to avoid helping you in any way possible. Just like how I won't give you the answer to the question I asked you! I'll give you a hint though. What it seems you are trying to get at...it isn't even defined on that page. I know you think it is but see, it's a bit more complicated than you think it is.

    However, this fallacy:
    From Justin's Wikipedia Page:

Converse Fallacy of Accident or Hasty Generalization

    * Converse Fallacy of Accident or Hasty Generalization: argues from a special case to a general rule.
    o Example

Argument: Every person I've met speaks English, so it must be true that all people speak English.
Problem: Those who have been met are a subset of the entire set.

o Also called reverse accident, destroying the exception, a dicto secundum quid ad dictum simpliciter

You've actually managed to commit multiple times in being "smarter" than we think you are.

Oh, I even corrected the spelling in the Wikipedia quote for the sake of accuracy.

Oh, also, for the sake of accuracy, you misspelled "believe" in your post. I corrected it in my quoting of your post.

Actually, he reminds me of some other guys that are no longer here. The ones that try to stir up stuff just cause.
