I went through the entire RT series until I found a complete RT5000 series setup. Took almost 5 years. I run a 7.1 system with an extra pair of the RT3000p sats (less subs) for my rear surrounds. I used a second set of FX1000's for a while but like the point source imaging for my rear surrounds The mids and tweets are easy to find. The sub amps and drivers, not so much. I readon this forum that Polk's supply of spare amps is all gone. I bought an extra sub with a working amp as a spare a couple years ago, and have extra drivers so I'm good.

I'm not selling mine anytime soon, but I have a large dedicated HT and WAF is not an issue. They ARE big speakers, but the physics of moving air dictates their size. If you want good sound, and lots of it, you have to move a LOT of air. The RT5000 series does that, and well.

I drive my set with a 7 x 200wpc amp and have used a stack of Carver M1.5t's (350wpc) on them. They like power, but don't require lots. They are 8 ohm speakers and fairly efficient. The powered subs in the mains and center eliminate the need for a huge amp, since the speaker provides the juice for bass, which takes the most power. You can also run the subs in the RT3000p's via the LFE channel, which is a poor man's bi-wire, and get good results if you don't use a separate powered sub. I've tried it but don't do it now in my setup. Plenty of bass, though, for a two channel sub-less music setup.

Keem 'em -- because I'm going to sell mine, and I'm not that far away from you. (Arlington.) Let's not compete against each other.

Everyone here has it right: these speakers rock, they're incredibly solid, and they've got a long life left in them. Unfortunately, they're too big for small places (like my new space) and wives seem to have some off form of control over the weak among us. Of course, it gave me an excuse to get new speakers -- Totem Tribes -- but with more than a pang of sadness...
