Definitely would keep them!

wow... I love the look, these LOOK amazing. I have never heard of these speakers because I only recently got into polk stuff. It looks like a nice setup, and they say: "if it ein't broke don't fix it!" so if you are happy with the sound and have no complaints, then dude... keep them! I would...Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

wow so far so good.they were my "dream speakers" several years back and were very $$$$$.wife is now saying they are too big...what the heck does she know anyway

If i had them, i don't think i'd ever leave my house...
how do they sound? I know it's hard to describe, but if you have heard the lsi series speakers or some other stuff, how do they compare? This is the first time I see these, and I think I'm in love... I mean, look at that center channel, and those woofers at the bottom!!! This system HAS to sound amazing!Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

in one word they "rock" the whole freaking house.quite frankly i dont have an ear for fine sound nor am i a audiophile. so its hard for me to give a better review.mostly im a movie watcher cranking it up loud.really i havent been in the market for speakers for 8-9 years so its hard to compare because i never really compared it to anything else. -
keep them. you will have to spend much much more to hear something a little better than what you have there. I don't think polk make center channel that big anymore

Beautiful system, and while you might get something else that sounds different, that doesn't necessarily mean it will sound better. Put that money that is burning a hole in your pocket into buying music & movies to show off your system. That center channel has me drooling!
And yes they are vintage, but that certainly isn't a bad thing. So are my speakers & with them properly powered they sound even better now then they did when I bought them 20 years ago.
If you haven't put an amp on them then get a 5 channel amp & see them really come alive.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
Why not just buy another set of speakers for 2 channel as HT sounds fantastic via bluray with pretty much all good midrange speakers

geez.vintage sounds so old.do i hear american pickers knocking at my door:biggrin:
mmm 5 channel amp sounds like a good idea -
Selling that setup would be a step backward, not forward.

Does polk even make anything comerable to this anymore? Maybe the new lsim line compares... but Enddershadow beat me to it: he should get rid of it all, to one of us, preferably me!Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

Technically it's still the reference theater line, so i'd day Rti a9's, Csi a6, and the fxi's. However that center channel is hard to beat, they definitely don't make them like that anymore. I only have the rt800's but i love their sound.

Wow. I'd only buy new if they sounded bad. If looks could talk, there is NO WAY that sounds bad.
Keep -

I'm not even sure I would trade that set up for the LSi or RTi A series, I still say keep them.Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

Check into some nice speaker cables, power cables, amp and interconnect cables and your sound will definitely change. You can really fine tune the way it sounds and it can become addicting. I like my speakers ok but don't want to upgrade until I can get some really nice ones, so it's a fun way to make them sound better for cheaper.

Haha true. I meant buy a power cable, then but speaker cables and see what it does. Eventually find a used amp etc. Definitely not cheaper all at once but i've heard some improvements with as small as a $50 investment, vs $3k+ for all new speakers. -
Just a thought but what about just up grading the bookshelf (top) speakers to a higher grade speaker?? You could switch them in for 2 channel listening.2 Channel
Amp - Jas Audio Bravo 3.2 set
Power Cord - Tunami GPX
CDP - Marantz cd6002 - Audio gd Ref 5 Dac
Speakers - Tekton Lore,Polk Audio RTA11tl completely refreshed. -
Keep em'. Use for a second system if you upgrade.

As an owner of the RT5000p system, my vote is also to keep them. It looks like you have the space for a nice set up with them as well.
Go out and listen to what is available and I think your ears would agree unless you have a large upgrade fund. -
