Jim, I'm curious as to why your going with an integrated rather than seperates? I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm thinking about a nice SS amp paired with a good tube pre with remote for my RF7IIs. I like the flexibility of seperates in case I get tired of something down the road. Not that that has ever happened.

As the title says, I'm looking for a tube integrated amp around the $2000 taxes in range.

Going to be used with a set of klipsch corwalls and a Jolida tube cd player.
Later in the year I will also be adding a turntable.

You might want to consider a modded Jolida 502B integrated amp. Roll some tubes of your choice in it and you might be pleasantly surprised with the results.

I am currently running a modded 502P. At the suggestion of one of our forum members whose opinion I value, I rolled in Shuguang Treasures, Mullards and Gold Lions and I am very pleased.

I bought my 502P new from a vendor on Audiogon. It came modded via Parts ConneXion and it is still covered by the Jolida warranty. I am running a pair of Heresy IIIs and I am most happy with this combination.

You should be able to pick up a new modded 502B with warranty, replace the tubes and be in the $2,000.00 range.

Whatever tube amp you decide to go with, have fun!

I think I'm going to try out some Cayin and the Rogue. Thanks for all the replies guys. If I could get my hands on one of those Manley's for cheap I'd probably get that. I'm heading to Toronto for a 2 weeks vacation so I'm hoping to wrap my ears around some of them

Cayin is nice stuff, but like so many said the Manley would be the one to buy.

Keep an eye out on the gon. I've watch a few still go for around 1500 after the price increase happened and some with an extra pair of tubes to boot. Only thing is they do go quick so good luck!

I'd pass on the Manley and go for the Rogue or Cayin.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I am using a JAS Audio Bravo 2.3 Class A Single ended tube integrated amplifier to drive a pair of Silverline Audio Sonata III's which are rated at 93.5 db and it sounds great. your Cornwall's are rated at 100 + db so it would drive them with no trouble.the 2.3 uses the Russian 6C33-B power tube and it is heavy and very well made, even though it is a 15 wpc SET amp it has good bass ,full midrange and sparkle on the topend.in other words the highs and lows are not rolled off like a typical SET amplifier.it comes with a small remote to control the volume and it is tube rectified and the power supply is choke filtered and its dead quiet even with the volume turned up, i bought mine used for a little under a grand and i am very pleased with it.i believe that Quest for Sound has a Demo unit with a 3 year warranty for sale on Audiogon in the $1400.00 price range.this amp had really good reviews @ Six Moons and Soundstage and it also won a editors choice award from Soundstage. good luck with your search....WCW III
