Rt800i vs RT1000i

I've searched here and googled but haven't been able to find a solid review or comparison between these two speakers.
I'm hoping someone here as a good comparison of the two.
Use is 2/3 movie and 1/3 music. Current setup is in my sig. I'm more concerned about musical differences as I'm sure either would work great for movies.
Thoughts?

I use the RT800i in one of my HT systems and they are excellent. You will need a sub for HT use. They are excellent in the mid range department, so if you feel the RT1000's are lacking in that area then I would consider the RT800i speakers. You seem to have enough in the sub department for HT. I actually stack RT800i with RT55's using the A/B on my receiver and it sounds great. If you like your current RT1000's maybe stacking RT55's is an option for you.Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

Polk HT system 2: , SRT system with f/x 1,000's rear speakers on 7.1 system currently using Onkyo TX-RZ820 receiver, powered by Sunfire Grand Theater amp

Well, there's a set not too far away for sale, but before I make the drive figured I'd try to find out if it would be worth the effort to try them out.
I don't feel that the 1000i's are lacking, but since I have plenty of subwoofer, I wonder what improvements I might find with the 800's.
So, they've got better midrange which makes sense, and I do like a warm but not muddy speaker. Does that improve staging/imaging or just tonal quality?Up

When I was shopping for Rt series speakers I did compare the rt800 vs the rt1000p's. I went back and forth with different receivers and music and I liked the rt1000p's every time.
I felt the midrange was clearer and more defined. Bass goes lower and cleaner. With the rt800's , I felt the speaker sound cloudy or muddy like it was trying to do more then it should. I also listened to the Rt55's of then and felt they also sounded much better then the rt800 model.
Moving to today , the RTia7's are so much more of a speaker then all 3 older RT models. If getting the older models is your game , well rt1000p , rt55 then the rt800's would be my picking order.Dan

Gaah! The lady decided not to sell them, claimed her husband was still too attached, and if she were to let them go would want at least $340 for them...didn't seem worth the hassle of buying/selling something that just might be better to my ear. If I'm going to do that I'll be taking a few steps up, and spending a bit more money...RTI A9's?
In the mean time I'm going to look at some RT35i's to replace the RT25i's I'm currently using for the surrounds. So long as they work, the price is right for $50.Up
