The SRT control center is used to control the SRT subwoofers and to adjust the SDA effects on the main towers. It is not compatible with any other polk speaker. You don't need to connect the SRT center or rear surround to the controller. I don't understand what you mean by using the front wides with the fx1000. Dipole is generally used for surround sound while bipole is used for multichannel music.

Thanx for the answer. I will hang on to the controller until I can get a set of 3000p's.

Using the f/x1000p's for side surrounds and the newer Dolby 9.2 speaker setup, where would they be placed when also using front wides?

Steelo, The SUV is gassed up ready to move out of dodge. I am dying on the vine waiting as my wife becomes more and more bitchy. Cant wait to get response from Brettw22 so I can the hell out of here and get my SRT's before my wife changes her mind lol !

    Macman...

Good to see you made it to the Polk Forum. There is a wealth of info here & a lot of good people who frequent this site.. so enjoy.
By the way, if you get a set of SRT's before me....I'm breaking into your house & stealing them:biggrin:

I have sent Bretw22 an email thru this site this morning but have not received a response. Any way I can actually get his contact info. I cant believe these speakers are still up for grabs.

Frankly I'm stumped as to why Bretw22 hasn't contacted you already. He did say "they would be sold to the first person that paid in full for them"
Did you send him a PM? Sometimes that works better than through e-mails.
I really hope you get them Macman. I know how much you want these babies so good luck.

    brett,

I said I'd take them, I damn well don't BS about money or commitments. If nooshin doesn't take 'em first, I'll pick them up on the 9th day of July.

However, either commit to selling them to me and knock off the trolling or count me out.

It's 1200 miles one way to SLC for me, it requires much to get lined up to go and to make the drive. Without commitment on your part, there is absolutely no reason for me to waste the effort.

I called nooshin and asked him for an update and he said he had several weeks of moving stuff to deal with and gave the OK to let them go to someone else.

These are sold to Aviator and he will be picking them up on the 9th.

I just got off the phone with Brett. He is a great guy and more than willing to facilitate and work with me in aquiring these speakers.... That said, he and I are in complete agreement that IF ANYONE can step forward with cash in hand between now and the time I am able to meet with him and seal the deal, he can sell the speakers to whomever he likes. Let's not forget these are still his speakers, and money talks.

I have the money, but am uncomfortable with doing anything other than forking over cash on these at time of pickup, or seeing them in person. I will be in the Salt Lake area in about a week and will call Brett to meet with him and hand over some Benjamin's if they are still available at that time. I will then drive back and pick them up at a later date.

Again, should someone else step in and grab them , so be it. Until money changes hands, they are available to anyone that wants to step up. I ask however that those not interested in buying them to please treat Brett and his thread with the respect he and these legendary speakers deserve.

    'Nuff said.

We rolled through Salt Lake at 1am.......

Brett and I spoke tonight and agreed that with Aviator being able to move on these quicker than I due to a miriad of factors having to do with my move, not the least of which is a bunch of broken stuff, that they should go to him.
