Shouldn't his title "Polk Audio at Lone Star Audio Fest 2001" be "Polk Audio at Lone Star Audio Fest 2011"?
Apparently, he does not like Cardas cable. "(Russ was the only exhibitor to use Cardas, a grave oversight IMO). "
But he does like the speakers (even with Cardas). Great. :biggrin:Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits. -
The oversight was that no one else used Cardas. All Marc uses is Cardas. Re-read it and quit overthinking it.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I had interpreted that to mean more exhibitors should have been using Cardas? lol, who knows..
Were the 703s on demo there? The bookshelves are the speakers i'm most curious about and haven't heard much mention of them..

We carry the full line of Cardas cables and they are quite nice not to mention have one hell of a following.
I didn't know you worked for polk Russ , when did this happen? What do you do for them?
Anyway I gotta get a set of these in front of me. It would be nice to have polks in the theater system again. It's been to long.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

Yes, it can be read both ways. Since he was gaga in the previous post for gear with MIT cables, I interpreted it as mentioned. Oh well, since cables don't matter anyway, the point is moot.
"I really hate to hand out "Best Sound at Show" Awards, but it was difficult to ignore the sound coming from the Advanced Home Theater Systems room at the Lone Star Audio Fest. For the most part the system was simple: a Luxman L-590A Pure Class A integrated amp and D-05 CD/SACD player fed into YG Acoustic Carmen speakers and wired with MIT cables."Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Dan, I do contract work, scouring the interweb for all things Polk, and crush spam on the board, help out with demos at some shows. The man on the streets so to speak, along with Mark.
Dan, it's a bit of a drive for you, but not unreasonable - you should do everything in your power to make Capital Audio Fest (which Mark is running). I'm sure he'd love to give you some personal demo time so you can blog your thoughts.
