Can Denon AVR 4310ci handle an LSi setup?

I am working on a new home theater setup so far I have a Denon AVR4310ci with LSi9 fronts, LSiC center and LSiFx in the back with a DSW Pro 660 sub. Is it a good idea to get an additional amplifier or am i ok with just the receiver? This is my first project so i am new to this any suggestions or recommendations on additional equipment i will need are appreciated.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

    The short answer is 'no'. That Denon will not be able to handle the 4 ohm load of the LSI-9s and your center that well. It's only rated for 6-8 ohm loads! So I would definitely get a separate power amp of 200 or more watts per channel at 8 ohms and more like 300 or more into 4 ohms and you'll really hear what those 9s sound like!

    You can probably get away with powering the LSiFX's off of the receiver, but I would at least get a 3-channel amp for the front sound-stage.

    Mine is a 4810ci, which is beefier than the 4310ci, and it still couldn't handle my 5.1 LSi setup. It ran extremely hot and produced muddy sound quality.

    Sell it and get a NAD T785HD receiver. This will power the Lsi's and sound amazing doing so. The Denon is a nice receiver if you owned the Rtia series from polk.

    Any suggestions on what amp brand model will go well with my current equipment. Looking to stay under 1k on the amp if possible. Still have to get a blue ray and a TV.

    There are a lot of good amps that would work well with your Denon. You're best off buying 'used' for the value and to try and stay in your price range.

    Amps that come immediately to mind are Rotel, Parasound, B&K, Carver, NAD, Adcom.

    As noted above, I'd go with at least a 3 channel power amp and if you can find a 5 channel in your price range that would be good too. But you need at least three for the most important part of the HT...the front L/C/R speakers. The Denon could 'possibly' run the surrounds for now?

    Take a look on www.audiogon.com and the Flea Market on this site for buys.

    There's a few in the Flea Market right now....I'd go with the NAD choices over the Carver.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I'm simply not a fan of those amplifiers. One need not love everything when it comes to audio.

    Amplifier brands to look at new which offer good bang for the buck would be Emotiva XPA-5, or Outlaw Audio.

    If you decide to go used, look on Audiogon for Rotel, Sunfire, B&K, Nad, Parasound, Adcom.

    As was pointed out, get at least a 200wpc @ 8ohms amp. I would get a 5 channel amp & be done with this particular upgrade since the amp can be used on the LSI's or just about any other speakers you might get in the future and operate them to their full potential.

    Thanks will take a look at Emotiva and Outlaw i think i want to go with new.

    I am currently using a Denon 4310ci to push a pair of Polk LC265i fronts, an LCi-C and a pair of LC80fx surrounds. I found the 4310ci does not have the power to push these speakers in a manner that I would like.

    No overheating issues. Just not enough power. Therefore, I am in the process of looking for a nice used 5-channel amp that has more adequate power.
