Personally, I got tired of the 'coverage'? Great Britain has a Parliamentary system that makes our Political system look 'stable'--and that statement itself makes me smile because we are the 'masters' of 'gridlock'--it's choking us boys and girls. Dems and Pubs that can't ever come together--hell of a system. But GB is no better.
Our politics are like a 'good' cable debate on CP? lol
On another note. America is still a young country the pines after 'tradition' because it's history is so short. Look at how the Kennedys are compared to royalty--what's that about? Any American who has visited an area of the world that has more than a 1000 years worth of history is usually awestruck...for a moment or two. And things are even more pressing now that some (IMF) have given us a termination notice of 2016 as the end of the #1 global economy. Oh my!
Of course I'm pulling your legs--some, as my family is home to two of world's great civilizations. One that's in glorious economic default, the other--the next #1--for better or worse?

I'm not 100% sure about the others but for me to be Kate's father, I would have to have done the deed at the ripe old age of 4. For me to be Pippa's father, I would have to have done the deed at 6.
As far as the "hitting it" comment goes, fine, that's crass but you know what? TOOLFORLIFEFAN has always been that way since he got here. It's his bed to lay in and if you disagree with his posts, talk to him about it in a PM, not the rest of us. As far as the other posts, admiring a woman or women in the public eye for their beauty and attractiveness is neither crass nor classless. Saying you would prefer one woman over another is not crass or classless either. It's just stating an opinion. I'm all for being respectful towards women but this crusade you go on whenever ANYTHING is said about a woman concerning her physical appearance is tiresome.
We are humans. Our greatest of the 5 senses is eyesight. We are visual creatures and it is part of our makeup to find a mate based on features that give visual queues as to the overall health and genetic quality of a potential. mate. While, yes, modern society and media tend to objectify a certain ideal that is not necessarily attainable for the majority of the population, that ideal does have some root in reality. Neglecting to understand that and then passing it off as piggish, crass and classless to put yourself above what is a personal preference based on a basic, instinctual attraction is just denying reality. The farther one is away from the ideal, man or woman, the more difficult it is for them to attract a suitable mate. It's not crass, classless or even wrong. It's just survival of the fittest.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Personally, I couldn't deal with a woman like, I dunno, Joy Behar. She's beautiful in her own way for the fact that she is another life on this Earth affecting things, for good or bad, just like you and I. That does not necessarily mean she is attractive to others. In my case, there are a couple reason and it's not just for her personality but because I am completely not attracted to her in every way. Now Joy's co-host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, I do find attractive (although her personality on the show is equally as grating) and that's just me. There is nothing crass or classless about it. What would be crass and classless would be discussing how much I would like to do unspeakable things to Elisabeth and/or putting down Joy Behar for resembling an albino hippo wearing a Bozo the Clown wig.
There is a difference between admiration of beauty and attractiveness and being a crass, classless pig and you, far too often, fail to make that distinction. The coverage hasn't bothered me as I refuse to watch TV news unless there is really something happening in the world that could possibly affect me or my country. The workplace water cooler, CP and a brief skim of headlines on the net seem to work fine.
I did find it funny that some company "over there" came up with the Royal Puke Bags some time ago...seems some of us are not the only ones tired of the constant coverage.

In regards to the wedding, I'm not usually one for this sort of distraction, but I can honestly appreciate the pomp, circumstance and pageantry that the English bring to this type of ceremony.
And maybe I'm a little less prickly about it b/c I lived in England when Charles/Diana got married, so I was able to appreciate the pageantry first hand.
