Apologies if this has already been posted; did a quick search and didn't see anything so here goes.

I've been emailed these links at least 1/2 a dozen times today, but can't access youtube at work.

Sniping in BF3 seen here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKtRbmfcRls

Another trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV4OM7V5l6M&feature=player_embedded

The sniping video must be amazing judging from how many folks have sent me that link at work. I get the feeling all the Modern Warfare folks might be hopping ship if this lives up to its hype!

I just hope the multi is also that good...

And the language in the vids above is NSFW for those that care.

doesnt bother me at all, the battlefield series was never about the best looks anyway, it was about gameplay.

Battlefield Bad Co. 2 used the frostbite engine, which is frikkin awesome. I believe this is the first game with Frostbite 2.0 if graphics take a small hit when product hits the shelves, I could hardly care.

I just hope that it's more like BF2 rather than BF:BC2.

I am also considering picking this up, but is this correct:

    Release Date: December 31, 2011

That seems like forever away

The BF3 website says: Release Date: Fall 2011

At least Fall is better than December I guess

Same here... I loved BF2 and BF2142 even more. I only moved away from PC FPS games when I started playing games like Killzone 2 and COD MW2 on the PS3 / 360.

I've tried console controllers with shooters. It sucks doesn't begin to describe how horrible the experience is. On the other hand, I was able to play the Crysis 2 demo on the current box, which is several years old, so another year may end up going by without an upgrade.
    Turntable: Empire 208
    Arm: Rega 300
    Cart: Shelter 501 III
    Phono Pre: Aural Thrills

it's a preference thing. I tried the pc route for shooters and it drove me nuts. I prefer the controller but I know if your used to PC going to controller is a pain in the ****. I definitely get that. it's all about what you like.

To be fair, Modern Warfare 3 is on the way and we haven't seen it yet. I may be getting that one, too. I'm just glad for the good competition and hope more studios get involved in it. Should make for a better product in the long run.

Preordered my Battlefield 3 for the 360 on day 1, though. Kind of glad its not coming out until Nov/Dec.
