Ok I can't leave anything alone. Not having a power switch to me is a PITA. So, I moved the fuse inside the chassis and installed a vintage push button power switch in its place. I figured if the fuse blows you should open it up anyway. That and the period correct switch looks like it came that way.

Not sure what this looks like but it sounds awesome. Nice project OP!

I would have been the guy to trash it, guess I should be a tad more alert.

"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

That amp looks better than amazing!

I don't recognize the isolation feet. Can you share what brand?

They're a DIY approach or you could call it repurposing.

Gorgeous, gorgeous restoration. The red looks perfect. Where in Texas are you? I wouldn't mind doing some driving to hear this for myself.

The SED Winged C tubes only have about 4 hours on them but have a warmth that wraps around you. There is really good bass, nice and tight. The mids are liguid and the imaging is awesome. Nice detail in the highs. Some of this is electrostat inherent, some is what tubes bring and some of it the combination of the two. I look forward to the hours of play as the tubes break in and reveal even more. Yes, it was all worth it.

I know it's probabally been said before, but the SED' winged "C"s are a pretty darn good all around tube, especially for the money.Rugged enough, but sweet too.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)
