I'm leaning toward semi-gloss black chassis and base. Then do the transformers in an automotive dark red/burgundy. So, black - black - red. The chassis is pitted from the rust and a gloss paint on the chassis would show that. The base is done in Krylon semi-gloss black lacquer.

I do have the stickers for the transformers.

Now that you mention auto body fillers, I think some red putty would work well. Its thinner and easier to spot fill in smaller areas. So, back to a red chassis. A little more work but I think looks better.

    Here is a quick mockup

Try the Ferrari red. For some reason I cannot get that color out of my head. I think the next set of amps I build will feature Rosso Corso and a prancing horse soemwhere.

I think black trannies and a silver vein finish on the chassis would look steller only because getting it chromed will be a lot of work, also the silver vein would cover any and all flaws from the rust giving it the pits..

Some things just belong in their original colors. Black and Chrome is the only way to do this amp the justice it deserves. I am a bit biased:redface:

Ok here it is. Not original, not perfect but a lot better than it was and not as good as it will be some day.

    Incredible

Thank you but I think it only rates a nice. Besides I can now see finger prints on the transformers. I need to remember to wipe stuff off before taking flash pictures. It actually looks better. The flash washes it out some. The colors are richer.

That is a much better color than the bright red you posted earlier.

I still prefer the original colors but what you did looks awesome indeed!

Sorry, I'm better at aquiring gear than selling it. I'm amassing as much gear as I can. Then when I die, my wife will contact my freinds like they won the lotto.
