Is he trying to diagnose why the amp blew out the magic smoke?

I havnt talked to Klaus about my amps yet - not sure.

The Candela checks out fine - but I had Alex throw in Sonicap Platinums in the front stage to replace the Gen 1 - apparently it is a huge improvement. So I am pretty excited.

I think a week --- I am getting the CDP's tray alignment fixed so it closes when the remote is used...

The amps should be a simple fix - but I might get them upgraded more while they are there too. I hate paying for shipping to get nothing in return basically so shall see...

I am thinking about trying his cables too...

I am in no hurry - I miss my tunes ALOT though but at the same token I am enjoying modding these speakers

Im not anywhere near the top...

Mine is a hybrid Kismet Stratos --

Mine uses four Symphonic line filter caps vs. 12 -- the wiring is half quatro - half ts premium. The bypass caps on the filter caps are Wima vs. Sonicaps

A host of stuff can be done further -- I dont think I am going to go any further with them at this point.

    The Sidlicious custom jumper...

    Cost? $5.00

    Thank you, Thank you!

This is the jumper to go from the tweeter network to the tweeter hook up on the top cab

Here is the basic mock up of how the networks will mount on the back --

The bottom of each network has two layers of dynamat and eight small rubber feet separating it from the bass module..

    You can't fit everything inside?

I could have - but I wanted to do a direct wire to amp for the tweeter vs going through three sets of posts...

And I wanted to apply no-rez to the cabinet, which with those networks taking up basically all the room would have not been possible

You should have just went active for the xover between the sub and mains. Those Peerless CC woofers would have appreciated a direct connection to an amp.

The bass cabinet actually does get a direct connection.

Active crossovers sound interesting but you guys will have a hard time convincing me of integrating Behringer, Rane, DBX, Lexicon, etc in my rig.

I work with that stuff and I know it all pretty much sucks... ;)

I mean sans any inductors in series with the woofers.

I agree that running the signal through a few pairs of binding posts is a pretty silly idea. No room for the tweeter x-over inside the top cabinet?

There is room - but I love the idea of external crossovers for convenience and future maintenance...

So - yeah... No biggie and I like the idea of having boxes on the back too lol

Alright - here is the network boxes all wired up with binding post -- I can never make things perfectly straight

Ran into a slight snag with the aluminum plates as they are designed to work with 3/8" post vs. 1/8" post --

So I am going to have to use some washers... hmm - hopefully it will work!

    Shall see!

    Here is a pre-wire

I still have to fabricate one more jumper

    But you get the idea

    HA!

    I wish!

I plugged it up to the Pioneer Elite - hoping to get SOMETHING - HA! HA! I say!

I hooked it up to the Super Towers just to make sure these speakers didnt suck worse than before.

    Thankfully its just the Pioneer.

Wow those internal amps sound like a clock radio!

Give me Odyssey, Give me Odyssey!

Sounds like it's time to cut the chord with Odyssey.

As much as part of me agrees with you --

I like the way it sounds way to much. I would go through several more issues before selling it to be honest.

I think the work you did is wonderful, but I have to say those boxes on the back of the speaker look like warts to me. I understand your logic but I just can't get past the look. They have such nice woodwork that is diminished by the crossover.

I bet they sound awesome though.

    Its actually "cheap" wire --

It is inwall wire - so the positive and negative and individually separated by its own jacket that is red and black. So I just stripped off the outter jacket connecting them together -- and I bundled two runs for an equivalent of 8 to 10 awg --- put it in some pretty tech flex and threw some bananas on there.

Probably 20-30 dollars total in all the wires you see

    Those wires do look cool.

So when are you going to fire them up?
