I have spent most of the day working on my new Crossover boards for my 1C's and my 1.2tl's from gimpod (1C's) and DK (1.2tl's). the hardest part is getting through the hot glue to take the inductors off the original boards.. :frown: what a pain in the ****!!

These new boards are awesome to work with and my solding skills are top notch as well, very pleased how they are coming out.

Sorry Jesse but I had to try it my self.. The solding station was worth every penny and then some, made life much easier..

Doubt I will get them in to take a listen today, but soon..

Will post pics soon...

Which soldering station did you get?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

The crossover of the LSi9 is simple in comparison. Cut a .5" strip of MDF narrow enough to fit through the woofer's hole, and build a point to point crossover on it.

any concerns with the small inductors located that close to each other in the same direction? it could just be the purist engineer in me but I thought that was bad practice? looks great tho!

The inductors are actually at a right angle to each other. However, even if they were in line with each other, it probably wouldn't have any audible effect: Loudspeaker Inductor Crosstalk Measurements

I got all my crossovers in today, and all is working well. I only listened to my 1C's for about half an hour, and moved them out of the way to finish up my 1.2tl's.I was really curious about them since I changed the inductor as well with this setup. Both set of boards work great and really clean them up. I was lucky enough to have two sets of 1.2tl crossovers so I didn't have to take apart the work Ben did for me on my original set,and I can A/B test if I want too.

    Again a very fun project..

    Thanks again DK and gimpod...

Please don't rush. Your efforts are too valuable! Please consider waiting until all the beta folks test the boards on all the SDA models for which you have designed your board. Just a friendly caution here.......

I will say this the boards make everything simple to follow and solder together. it seems Gimpods boards will work on most SDA's, I could have used them in my 1.2tl's as well as my 1C's I see no problem in them.

I will say one thing about the inductors, and that is I will be doing it in my 1C's as well. Yes they do make a difference a big one at that.. I'm not sure there is much left that is stock in my 1.2tl's...

For gimpod being a newb "if you will" the guy has done a fantastic job in a short time here..

    Hi Larry!

Nice job! I am a little confused from your post and the pics, which inductor(s) did you replace? Just the big one?

Yes larry, tell us about the inductors.

I plan on doing my 2Bs with these new boards and should probably go with new inductors too.Id like to tackle the whole thing and not have to upgrade something later.

Sorry bout that, Yes I just changed the big inductor with a North Creek 16mH inductor in my 1.2tl's.

Since we're bugging you with inductor questions... what wire gauge did you use? It looks like North Creek's smallest is 14 and the schematics use 18ga.

Looks like my 1C's use the same size inductor as my 1.2tl's (16mH) and my CRS+'s use a 16mH..
