Valentines a WOMENS holiday. Most women will tell you they dont really care for flowers.

Yes! Women think Valentines is a corrupt form of latin meaning "Christmass in February.!"

They are only a rip off if you buy them on vday or mothers day. We don't celebrate v day. I don't need a holiday to express my love and surprise my wife! Go buy the same flowers, chocolates and other stuff today, you'd save a ton.

Most guys p***y bill goes up astronomically after marriage, they just don't realize it because it is cloaked in the disguise of "other expenses". Look at how much money poor Tiger Woods would have saved if he had engaged in the same promiscuous behavior, yet while single.

Classic...how true...and btw, roses are a lot less expensive than diamonds!!

I don't think they are a rip off when I see my wife smile. if thats what it cost to make that happen once a year I'll suck it up and do it.

Or you can be slick like me and buy Chocolate Roses . Kill 2 birds with one stone .
Ok, here is one that finally deserves his wife attention
Frugal wife too. I got her flowers a few times several years ago but now she doesn't want it. Dinner is all that she cares about. She also likes a card. I had the kids make cards for her, and she really liked that. We did get eachother a small gift. I got her a candle set from Walmart for $10. She loved it since she loves candles. She got me some chocolates which I love. She likes chocolates too but doesn't want any since she is watching her figure.

It's all about pleasing your loved one. Some women do prefer flowers and that's the game you have to play even though they are a rip-off. Finding one that knows better is the key.
What ever please her and make her special on that day, doesn't have to cost harm and leggs... Just simply showing you care and not take her for granted.

Thank God my wife loves me for who I am. I was lucky to find the one, I'm sure the only one, that does.

Good on you man, now what do you do to show your appreciation? Hopefully, you do not take her for granted, right?
A card, some candy and a small stuffed animal and everything is good on the home front.
Again, what ever please her and shows that you care.

A men has the choice to be a cave man/matcho or man enough to be a gentlemen with his women. The reality is being one or both doesn't garantee the women's love will be forever but rest assure she will definitely grow tire and un-happy with the cave man/matcho.

For me, I don't care about the cost, I only care about her happyness, as mantis points out; "I don't think they are a rip off when I see my wife smile". To me, as long as you do your sincere best to please your wife every once in a while (NOT only on VD) that is all that is important. Focusing on the cost of few flowers tells me one doesn't value his wife/mate too deeply

Sheeeeet. I got her roses (in a vase), expensive chocolates, a card, and a stuffed animal. Plus I made a four course surf and turf. For what? So she could **** at me.

Valentines day is a great day to dump 'em, too!!! Vive la Bachelor!!!
