Still have not been able to get into the place yet. Kids have plenty of clothes, wife is not too bad off either in that respect. I could use a few pairs of jeans, which I will most likely find in the next couple of days. Got a Bed and a couch last week. Got a bed and a pack and play for the girls, will be picking up beds for the boys and chairs for the kitchen next Tues. Thank you all for the help. I will be PMing Doro with my new address, and I told F1 to give me a call to get it also. Checking the Forums from the Cell sucks and responding to stuff is even worse.

Thank all of you so very much. To those that I have not sent a personal thank you to I am sorry, as it is hard for me to get in front of a computer for a long enough period to do so.

    Again, Thank you polkies.

Man that sucks (obvious comment is obvious). Sorry to hear about that. You should be able to go get your property. You can probably check with legal aid and ask them at no cost.

    Ted:

Just say the word when you have a place to receive it and I'll get that Oppo 970 shipped out ASAP.

If you need cables (HDMI, optical, all that good stuff) let me know on that end as well. I don't have anything fancy, but it's surely better than nothing.

The wife and I went for a look yesterday, and pulled some stuff out today. The Green Machine still lives (my computer which I am on now). The SDAs and 7s Have a lot of smoke damage, but may be okay. Got the cheap Mitsubishi amp and preamp out as well, have to open them up and clean them up to see where we are at. The Parasound is frozen under some clothes that got hosed down, so Don't know about that one yet. Playstation(2) looks fine Wii is a bit melted, but the DVD and game discs on top of it were fine other than being covered with smoke from plastic (which is throughout the trailer). The B&K pre I think will also be fine after a good cleaning. The front of the c350 has vinyl bubbling, but all the drivers look fine. Just about all of the stuff in our boys room minus the beds look to be salvageable. My daughter's room fared way better than I thought it would. Bathroom, laundry room, and one wall in our bedroom is toast. Most of the clothes on the shelf in our closet are gone. Here's the funny part the hangers we had in the closet were plastic, and started to stretch out as they heated up and fell off the bar, and most of that seems like it may had made it also. Baby clothes may be salvageable, but are just going to call it a loss on those as, I don't want her to deal with clothes that may not come 100% clean, and even if they do I still don't want to chance it. Lost a few keep sakes. DVD player is questionable, has a decent amount of smoke on the front of it. Windex and/or Palmolive do a good job on cleaning things up, and baby wipes make the best cloths as you can rinse almost all of the crap out of them and reuse them, no pun intended. Got a lot of work to do tomorrow, and a lot more cleaning after that. May have to rent another storage unit to put stuff in, just so we don't have tons of smokey smelling stuff here all at once. Cleaned the TV tonight, pulled the picture tube and all, and went over the whole thing with Windex. I let it dry for a bit, plugged it in, and it turned on. The started to hear a funny buzz from, so I pulled the plug out of the wall. Gonna let it dry for a while longer and try it again(it is sitting over a heater vent right now). I have the side off of the computer, which has some smoke residue in it, but not too bad, as well as the monitor. Both need a good scrubbing on the out side though. We are going to try to get a heater in the old place tomorrow so the clothes can thaw as they are a big ice lump frozen to the floor. All in all we are a lot better off than what I thought we would be. We have already stated throwing out stuff that is either junk, or we just don't want to waste time with(I have told the wife a few years ago we have too much crap). Start the new job on Monday so time for getting stuff out is going to be hard to come by, and with my wife having a almost 3 year old and a 4 month old who exclusively breast feeds, it's hard for her to go do any of it either, not to mention I will have the van, and she doesn't have a license. It's times like these you find out who your real friends are, and which ones are just fair weather friends. Crap, I have had more offers from people that I barely associate with than some of the people I thought would help. Sorry for the lack of format, and complete jumble of thoughts, and I pretty sure I left some stuff out. But dude is back on the interwebs and will be more so after everything settles back down. Will be working 5 days a week @ 40 hrs( been a while since I have done that, and will be working 3 days next week flippin Pizzas. Thank you all for the offers, and after I get it all sorted out, I'll let you know where I'm standing. The money that has been sent has been an awesome help, we would have been hurting a couple times with out it, I will never be able to thank all of you enough.

    Unexplainably thankful,
    dude

I have a free DVD player if you want it. It's not a TOTL model but it's a pretty cool Panasonic that's been dynamited and CAIG'd. That's if you haven't already grabbed the OPPO offered earlier from Jflail.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

TV seems to be fine. Here are a few pics of the SDAs and 7s. There is a before and after cleaning pic of the back of one of the SDAs. The pic does not do it justice, the second to the last speaker even though the text on the back of the speaker looks white is, in person it is actually a very dark gray. Going to hook up the onkyo integrated to test the speakers later, it was out side, and was used for testing garage sale speakers, so I know it's fine. Just can't remember if it is common ground or not. I've posted about the Onk before, but can not recall the model number right now, and have no idea where my DMM is to see if it is a common ground or not. Sorry about the quality of the pics, they were taken with my cmcorder which does not have a flash.

Alright, I'm back. Green Machine died the same night as my last post. Lost a video card, and a stick of ram, but seem to be all good for now.

First day of training had come, and I was geeked. Drove 40 mins, parked and went into the building. Asked for the trainer, and receptionist said he should be down stairs, and lead me to a staircase. Went down, nobody there, came back up. The receptionist went over to a door ;an a few minutes later he arrived. He looked confused. He said that there was no training this week, and more than likely wouldn't be for a month.

I'm still flipping pizza's and the girl who was supposed to take my place just is not going to cut it. Worked a short week last week, 3 days.

We got some of our stuff out of the burnt **** hole. The ex-landlord found out and gave me a call and said that If I go back on the property he will be pressing charges for trespassing. Looks like I need to file an MC35 with an MC01 at the county building. We managed to get some stuff in to storage, and some stuff on to the patio to go get next time we went out there. The Wii, PS2, computer DVD-r/w.....anything with an optical drive (with the exception of the cd-r/w drive, well it reads anyways) is a no go. One of my co-workers had a PS2 with a bad motor, mine had a good one. So......I pulled the motor from mine and out it in the other one, and nuthin'. Swap the motor back, it's dead. Laser seems to work well though. Cleaned the 7's and pulled part of the tweeter diaphragm loose, still sounds good. Cleaned up the SDA's and pulled the undamaged tweeter from the other 7 and swapped it in. AHHHHHH SDA's with room to breath. Parasound, after about 5 hours in the tub and a few more over a heater vent, is providing mass amounts of detail. The B&K is at the old place with my tuner, onkyo integrated, and 2 turntables(nothing special). The speaker protecting Denon is also still there. We still have clothes there as well, mainly my wifes and my clothes, as well as some of the kids, just about all of the kids outside toys including a play structure. Our kitchen table, some keepsakes from our kids, our .22 and personal, identifying and financial information. We really didn't loose to much, just huge inconvenience that has been going on for too long.

I'm just like dude, let me get my stuff and I'm outta here. I guess he must want to sit around in lingerie and play with kids toys. What else would he want my stuff for. Damn it, give me my parts van back, it has a new cap and rotor and I need it for this van.

For those who have offered a DVD player, I just need some thing with a composite output (single yellow connector) for video. I don't care which, you guys figure it out and I'll shoot you an address. IF anyone has any SL2000's they want to sell on the cheap let me know.

    Dude,

If you are still in need (per your 02/14/11 posting) of a DVD player, I have one that you can have. It is a Toshiba SD-K620 that has the yellow video input as well as coaxial and component inputs. It has been my basement/man cave player until yesterday (I received my Oppo BDP-95).

Shoot me a P.M. with your mailing information and I will pack and mail to you with the remote, set of batteries and the standard yellow/red/white cord.

I will absorb whatever costs are incurred.

After a month and a half we were able to salvage the last of our stuff(after suing the landlord, and still have to pay him over 700 bones). Lost some stuff, but not as bad as I thought. A lot of our clothes made it. Most of the kids presents from Christmas did not make it, kind of crappy, most of the stuff they lost they never even got a chance to play with. Life is just about back to normal. Thank polkies for all the help. I don't know how I would have made it with out your support, you guys helped in ways you could not even imagine. My computer has been brought back from the dead 4 times now. So if any of you were wondering were I have been, I'm still kickin', just having computer issues. Happy we got this new laptop, not what I wanted, but it is something for the whole family.

Well, about a week and a half ago I got demoted at work. I was not feeling good, and left early, and the other supervisor that was there covered my shift, and the crew person who was to leave at 7, covered hers. I counted my drawer down a half hour before I left and it was dead on. I counted the safe down and it was plus $10, recounted, and again, like 6 time just to be sure. I come in the next day to be handed a letter saying I am being demoted because of inconsistencies in my paper work. Come to find out, the safe was short $40, minus 50 from what I counted. I made the $40 reappear to try and save my job, no luck. Now mind you, the oompa loompa who covered my shift came into work after cashing her check said I have $20 for gas to last me the next to weeks. She is 18 and over$30,000 in debt, and is borrowing money from one of those cash advance places. I have had around a grand in the bank for a few months now, like I need to steal $40, actually $50. When is the crap going to stop happening to me? I like a magnet for negativity. I think I need to stop having my positive outlook as opposites attract. Sorry I have turned this into an ongoing thead about the life of dude, but it's a nice place for me to vent about stuff.

It's all good if you let it.

Remember, it could be worse: you could be an 18 year-old oompah loompah, $30,000 in debt, fiscally and morally bankrupt, and no prospects for the future, willing to steal and place the blame on an honorable fellow human being.

Money will come, money will go; enjoy those around you who matter the most to you.

I'm sorry Dude, but with the issues you have had lately, if you only have a grand in the bank, you don't need to spend 20% of it on speakers. Just sayin. Good luck.

I know I don't need to, I'd just want to. Thankfully I know it's not justifiable....well unless I sell the SDAs. I just don't know.
