And your "joke" is to tell they guy to commit insurance fraud??? I agree with Treitz3's comments- what a first class A$$h@@L%.

There's a difference between telling someone to commit insurance fraud and simply cracking a joke about it.

Lighten up. Just trying to cheer the guy up...

She's not playing with toys yet. We went up to the Baby Pantry think food pantry, but for clothes, toys, and books for 0-5 year olds, so she has a few outfits for now. The Red Cross gave us a pre-paid debit card with $350 on it for clothes and the likes. We have a couple days of clothes that we went out a bought earlier tonight. We may head down to Bay city and hit good will and the salvation army so we don't have to wash clothes every couple days.

As for Sizes My wife wears a large, I think her pants are 14 or 16, don't quote me though My oldest boy is in size 7 the other boy is in 5-6's and our oldest daughter is in 4t, the little one is still in 0-3 month clothes I wear large tops and 36/34 with a 30/32 inseam. I should have the address of our new rental in a few days and will update when I can.

I have a 7 month old daughter and just a week ago washed and bagged here 0-3 month stuff. What do you need? I can get it out today with the rest of my shipments.

For God's sake keep this thread about Dude... I meant my comment in 100% trying to bring a bit of levity to the situation. This isn't a time for personal politics.

Just let us know what we can do.

Get off your high horse and crawl back into your playpin, you jackwagon. That last post had NOTHING to do with you.

Out of respect for Dude, I will not respond to the two trolls that have reared their ugly heads again. No matter how stupid the diatribe.

    Dude:

I wear a large shirt and 34x32 pants. I can round up a few things for you on that side as well. At least get a few button downs back in the rotation for you anyway.

Sorry this happened, but glad to hear the family is safe!

Lemme know if you need anything, Dude.

As far as gaining entrance, you should be able to as long as the house isn't ready for occupancy. I have been a landlord in **** New Jersey for years, so if you need to get in touch about your rights. different rules for different states, but they are all available for review.

Sucks about the no insurance. I strongly suggest all of my tenants carry it.

Juju, jerk off comments might be a joke to you. But some of us, obviously, don't find it funny. I wonder how you'd feel if someone tossed one out when you are hit with something like this. Jackass....

Sorry to hear about this, hopefully the kids and parents are OK and there was some sort of insurance to cover the loss of items. Just when things were looking up too.

I would understand it for what it is. A bit of light heartedness after knowing the important stuff (like family) are ok.

Sometimes the hardest times allow us to refocus and make a fresh start for the best. Several years ago I was drowning in CA and finally realized that it was just time to pick up my feet and get moving. I left all of my friends, connections, and ties in order to start working in another state that would allow me some breathing room and time to focus on what I really wanted to do in life. It took a couple years, but I ended up in the field I always wanted to work in and more stability than I had ever experienced. It was difficult as a single person, I could only imagine how hard it is to restart as a family, but sometimes you have to have faith and dedication during hard times.

I am not sure if your new job requires any specific attire, but let us know and hopefully others and myself can assist you in that area as well. PM you address and I will get some jeans and sweaters out to you, most of them are virtually unused.

The eviction was part of an agreement with our landlord, we had with held rent on the on two different occasions due to them not making repairs. We made an agreement to be out by December 31st, as we had a rent to own deal lined up for the middle of December, that fell though. We had found a place to rent last week and we are moving in this weekend.

Does anyone on here know what legal right I have to go into the house and try to salvage what I can.
    dude

Generally and in the absence of changed conditions (like a fire), you have the right to reenter your leased space unaccompanied up to the time when your lease terminates and you hand over your keys to the landlord. With respect to personal items, the landlord is authorized in Michigan to remove abandoned personal items left by tenants, however the landlord must comply with certain notice requirement before he can simply toss items of value. Assuming your apartment burned before your move out date, it would be equitable to allow you to reenter the leased space to salvage what's left. You will have to of course wait until after fire and police complete their investigations and have declared the premises safe to enter.

Before you consider any legal assistance, I would first contact your landlord and notify him that you plan to return to the residence and remove personal items. If he's not a total jerk, he should have no problem with you literally helping him clean up the mess. If he turns out to be an ****, you might see if the police would mind sending an officer to be present where your apartment burned to the ground so you may collect what's left of your life. Basically, barring safety and insurance issues, your landlord can't prevent you from collecting your personal property.

On another note, it's highly unlikely that anything is left of any value in your place. If the fire was bad enough to burn the walls down, then that means the heat and smoke alone were probably enough to ruin the majority of your stuff. That description of destruction doesn't even account for the water and investigation damage further inflicted upon your former place following the fire. I say this not to make you feel bad, but to put you on notice that collecting legal fees may not be worth the reward.
