Good for you. We have a little Fox Terrier that came from the pound 10 years ago and the whole house revolves around him. Thats where the next one will come from aswell. Good Luck.

    Very nice, Mr. V.

Preaching to the choir, but as a suggestion make sure your new pup gets tested for Parvo.

    Two thumbs up !

Good job. We rescued a dog about a month and a half ago and love him.

My wife is a vet so if you have any questions let me know and I can try to get some answers.

God he's gorgeous! Dogs are so resilient, he'll do just fine with 3 legs, should that one be removed, he just needs love and he'll hopping along wagging his tail, giving smooches to ya, please keep him! Bless you Trey!!

He had a bad infection on his leg - but the vet said with antibiotics and twice a day cleaning he should be fine....

I was gone to California all week but I am back now and he is far more lively and playful than the first day...

My dog Sidney loves him - they are great companions it seems.

I have already taught him sit, down, up and working on shake...

He is a good dog so far! :)

I was glad to read through this thread and hit this post. Good deed and a tip of the hat to you. He probably is so greatfull, he could end up being one of your most loyal dogs you've had. You didn't say if he was staying or not, but it sounds like it:biggrin:

Well give you guys an update --

Buddy is doing great... he loves the hell out of my other dog Sidney. They are just about inseparable!

With a good ear cleaning every other day, cleaning his leg, antibiotics and some omega 3 -- his ears are clearing up, he is running on the leg alot with some limp, coat is shiney and not shedding...

I have two of the strangest dogs I have ever met... lol

Good on ya Trey. I just took in a stray pup off the side of the road on Saturday. All signs point to a retriever/snauz mix. What a freakin' cute mutt. Hope all turns out well with your's as our vet miraculously just issued our dog a clean bill of health.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

That's great news. Your a great guy for saving that dogs life and taking on the responsability of caring for it until who knows when.

    Karma waves are strong here.

I, like others, wait for the next updates.

Very nice. Looks like a keeper! I'm hoping to rescue a second one soon too...glad to see the two of them having fun. Everyone I talk to that has two dogs said it's actually easier to have two since they keep each other entertained (as opposed to the old tennis ball in the lap at 9:30pm trick). Obviously the cost almost doubles, but if the dogs are happy, the owners are happy, and there is one less dog out on the streets, it's totally worth it.
