That review sucked. Reviewer is an idiot too.

How am I supposed to take it seriously when he openly mocks patented technology in such a childish manner?
While they love to call normal design options silly things like "Polk's Dynamic Sonic Engine enclosure ," and "Polk's PowerPort®" (if you don't plug it in, it's a bit misleading to call it "power" anything), we'll forgive them. There marketing department has to do something other than Sudoku right? We might also take issue with the idea that the flat woofers on the towers are sub drivers rather than woofers but again, marketing department.

Here you go, Tom Andry, a description of the Power Port tech.

    http://www.polkaudio.com/education/tech_article.php?id=30
    http://www.polkaudio.com/education/tech_article.php?id=31

And info on the Dynamic Sonic Engine Enclosure
    http://www.polkaudio.com/partners/press.php?id=96

which you pretty much copied word for word in your "review".
The core of the LSiM line will be Polk's proprietary 3.25" Extended Liner Motion (ELM) midrange mounted above a 1" Advance Isotropic ring radiator tweeter. Polk claims that combining these transducers in a single optimized array produces an uncommonly wide and uniform dispersion pattern.

    Agreed AGAIN!:biggrin::wink:

Since when is anything from Audioholics taken seriously here. If their mods approve of allowing such crap on their forum, they can keep it.

Tom has a pod cast where he basically speaks his mind. It's kinda refreshing to listen to and sometimes annoying.

The review was lack luster but that doesn't change the fact I'm so eagerly waiting to get in front of a pair of LSIM anything.

Good point. He hasn't actually heard them yet. Whereas some of us have heard the prototypes at PolkFest? So the word is still out and what we heard was not the final product...but it was already sounding pretty nice!

Haven't you already ruined that option for your entire forum, based on your conduct here and butting heads with realtime MOD's? I'd never do that on your forum as I'm also a member. I don't factor into much since I've dropped off MOD status, just an observation.

I would have loved to send your crew a pair but will most likely send them elsewhere.

The Audioholics forum usually hates Polk anyway.

Show me all the threads at AH where Polk bashing goes on the way Emotiva does here.

If people get bent out of shape because I would recommend something like a Crown XLS 402d (which I happen to like better than my HCA 1000A) that's on them. It's just an opinion.

This thread is a perfect example of people going off half cocked with basically zero grasp of the facts: It was an overview. Take 60 seconds and you would see that.

Send AH a review sample or don't. The world still turns.

You being a former Mod here I would love an answer to CFrizz's question about brand bashing being against the rules here and either the tacit or active participation of mods in the bashing. I have the text of her full response if you would like.

I had never seen those oblong drivers before either, until about a year ago on some KEF's.

I seriously can't wait to get some time on these. I hope the Abt Electronics will have a pair set up in the main room.

That is FAR from the only or the main reason that you get people bent out of shape. Even you can't be that disingenuous to think that.
This thread is a perfect example of people going off half cocked with basically zero grasp of the facts: It was an overview. Take 60 seconds and you would see that.

I read it. Twice. Going off half cocked? Zero grap of facts? Based on that poorly written pile of crap? Pfffffft. I've read better writing on a bathroom stall.

Why does Mark owe you anything? Just what EXACTLY do you bring to the table here? Nothing, nada and zip. This is Polk's forum, as such they are entitled to do as they see fit. Don't like it? Take it up with someone that cares.

You really can't be honest about anything, can you?

It really is very poorly written and in my book if you are a reviewer by trade and something like that is written, you loose all credibility with me. I would be embarassed to be associated with that writer. But then that's one of the reasons AA isn't even a blip on my radar.

P.s. and while this is a thread about Polk, I've seen the same shoddy writing for other brands as well.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it.
