I think I've logged on in what will be known as the grumpy period.

I don't see the point in telling someone, and everyone else reading the thread, that you've put them on your list. If you want to list someone, then list them, but stating publically, and within their celebratory thread no less, that you've listed them is, 1, immature and potentially unnecessarilly hurtful, and, 2, defeats the point of listing them in the first place, which is to ignore them. Going out of your way to tell someone that you're ignoring them is just a tad ironic, don't ya think.

So if you want to list me, then by all means, go right ahead, but there's no need to tell me or the rest of this public forum about your decision.

    List like a man: silently.

    haha.. yea, maybe.

But seriously, I haven't "acted" poorly in any way. I haven't hurled insults or said anything disrespectful to anyone. I just made one benign comment that I didn't think it was cool to publically announce the listing of members, and I only did so in the defense of Cody who is a new member and I felt the need to stick up for him. The fact that I made my comment to a long-standing and respected member here is the only reason for this unwarranted backlash.

It's totally cool if others disagree with my stance on publically announcing their bozo list decisions, but I don't see how my inncocent and honest comment is grounds for the mob and pitchforks to come out.

I understand that GG does great things and deserves respect. I feel that I was respectful with my comment, and I don't deserve the backlash. It's not right that the older members here, who should have thicker skin, have the troops come in and defend them, but when newer memebers get raled against no one defends them, except me, and then I get raled against for defending them.

This thread is the perfect example of how to scare new members away from this *mainly very informative anf beneficial forum.

Let's put this in perspective here Bro. I raled against gdb for making a really nasty personal attack on George Grand because he simply stated his intention. He didn't ask me to defend him or make my comments in fact knowing George he probably didn't like it if he even saw it at all. However, when I see someone making a personal, very personal attack on a guy who I know is an awesome human being regardless of our current relationship, I'm going to speak up.

I love newbies, I just recently had mucho PMs exchanged with newbies and am always there with helping hand available unless they act like total jack offs.

Some here have the uncanny ability to spot a bozo moreso than others F1nut is another that has this ability and a few others. I've seen it over and over again and I'm not saying Cody is a bozo but GG thinks so and has the right to list him and express it. To go one step further, I think as Jstas stated he doing a service to his listed bozo.

Gdb has no right or business attacking GG personally under any circumstances especially when it has NOTHING to do with him.

Don't care and while it's "primarily an audio forum", this is an "off-topic" forum for discussion on anything. It doesn't HAVE to be audio related. Then again, the OP posted about post count and then everyone keeps saying "post count doesn't matter". Obviously, it does, otherwise we never would have seen this thread to begin with. What wasn't needed was the trollish behaviors of a few select members against another member. Now we're all mean, uncivil and impolite because those whose mouths are writing checks their butts can't cash were essentially told to sit down and shut up. Now people like you who can't seem to handle a bit of conflict/disagreement are telling us all how bad we are and attempting to take the high road. But, in reality, you haven't because your passive aggressive statements and scoldings are tantamount to the goody-two-shoes kid in grade school squealing to the principle about every little thing all the boys are doing. You know what would be taking the high road? Ignoring it all and not posting like MANY others have already done and continue to do and letting those of us who chose to not ignore it to hang ourselves with our own ropes.

You need to quit with your whining. You're not my keep nor anyone else's here. We are all grown people and we chose to handle ourselves as we see fit. If we're not breaking any forum rules then you have absolutely no place to tell any of us what to do in any fashion. That seems to be lost on many here, including a good chunk or our newer members. If you don't like the thread, don't read it, don't post in it and just go look at any number of the thousands of other posts here that are more conducive to the well-being of your fragile psyche.

The reason I don't rale against gdb is because I don't rale. Period.

You are sticking up for a new member who claims post counts don't matter yet the new member made an entire thread about post counts. Do you see the folly of your ways in the support of the hypocrisy of such a thing? Furthermore, you supported another member who openly trashed another member and still continues to do so and you wonder why others are all up in your face about it?

No one has to welcome any "newbs" anywhere. It is no one's responsibility to be the welcoming wagon. We are not responsible for your happy thoughts and glad tidings. People choose to be that way and good for them. Someone has to make up for the rest of us, like me, who just really couldn't care less if every "newb" who wanders in here gets a big handshake/hug/kiss hello.

And, in addressing the prior post of yours to what is quoted, I will reiterate. George did not call in reinforcements. No one ganged up on any one because of some kind of tag team effort. A member openly insulted George and George's FRIENDS, let me repeat that in case you didn't catch it the first time. George's FRIENDS came to his defense when they saw him being unfairly attacked. Beyond that the heinousness of the actions of gbd against George are unsatisfactory and would be for any other member here as well. If anything, gbd's actions and words are the kind of thing that run off "newbs". Not how George handled it.

Life lesson time. There will ALWAYS be someone out there that you don't like. Hell, it's probably me! Good! Glad I could be of service! At the same time, there will always be someone who doesn't like you. That's probably me again but I just don't have the time to check right now so I'll get back to you on that. You can't change that and if your participation in a new forum of thousands of people is going to be affected by ONE singular person then, well, you probably won't have the best experience here anyway and you should probably move on. That's the God's honest truth. It hurts, it stings but it's real and nothing personal.

My business in this thread has nothing to to with gdb; it's not worth the time.

    Here's me point:

This thread was perfectly inocuous until GG announced his listing of Cody. I hold the older, wiser members to a higher standard, and they should know better than to make posts that will act as catalysts for threads like this.

    1) I never stuck up for gdb or his off-color comment.

    2) I never said that GG called in reinforcements; I just said that they came, whereas none came for the newb.

    3) nothing you said hurts or stings... haha

    4) I generally enjoy your frankness sense of humor.
