6 months? Not unreasonable to members in good standing. I've heard of deals that went longer and trades that were made to make the difference owed up. I know there are thousands of dollars worth of gear on loan right now between many members that haven't chatted in a while. It's all good and part of being a member in good standing on this forum.

That said, when someone disregards the simple, elementary school type human interaction such as a response when talked too? Eh, that's where the other party crapped the deal. How hard is it to man up and tell the truth?

It doesn't really matter what happened [within reason], what matters is that one communicates what is going or not going on. If someone F'd up, if someone got robbed, laid off, not paid, got screwed on another deal, had a death or ten in the family, was involved in a crash and got screwed...etc.

Why can not they communicate with the other party as to what's going on?

To me, that's just as bad as stealing. Oust the SoS, seriously. With your post, I will have to put myself on a buying freeze from this forum until I know who to avoid like the plague. Just do me a favor, Larry. Please tell me it's not me....

Transactions should be simple. YOU sell something, I pay for it, YOU ship it. I sell something, YOU pay for it, I ship it. This leaves no time for things to go south or "my dog died" or countless other reasons. Do the transaction as quickly as possible and you minimize the potential hassles.

tool, pm me and then i'll out the offender. even credit card companies use a 3rd party arbitrator. in fact, they use three of them. trans union, equifax and experian.

i'm kidding of course but would like to add that the board members should be given a heads up. i want to know that when i deal in the flea market that i can move forward without being paranoid.

in fact, i was feeling somewhat safe about the flea market but have to admit now that this particular thread is making me grow paranoid as i type...

It's not you and really had nothing to do with the FM. so don't worry about buying in the FM. I have PM'ed him again and I want to see where it goes from here. If I get no response then I will post what has happened and who it is. I do know he had issues a few months ago and I let it go a little longer really no big deal But not keeping me up to snuff as what is going on is the part I don't like. I might add the part that makes it hard is I like the guy..

This is why I am handling it this way for the time being. and I have not seen him sell anything in the FM for some time, and if I did I would put a stop to it.

Just trust me for a few I will not let anyone get screwed in the FM cause of it. I just want him to contact me and at least try and make good on it..

    That is all..

If this person happened to be doro russ shack jesse or someone similar half the peeps here will rush to make excuses for this persons behavior and you know what that sucks because no one should be above the law or the rules written or unwritten.

I'd have to disagree with you on that, Snow.

If one of the persons you mentioned happened to seemingly stiff a buyer, than seemingly ignored PMs/emails, and it was brought out in a thread what was supposedly happening, there would be no excuses made, IMO. The only questions which would arise at first would be along the order of :
    "Huh ? You're kidding ?"
"You gotta be ****ing me ?"
    "Are you sure ?"

And those wouldn't be excuses, IMO, merely questions that would reflect the fact that what was seeming to go down didn't jibe with the person's reputation.

If one of those persons named stiffed another buyer (definitely don't see that happening, but that's just my opinion), than they'd get reamed the same as anyone else.

One, this has nothing to do with me. Two, why would anyone make excuses for the members that you mentioned?...let alone me personally. Three, just FYI I've been slammed offline by Polk HQ for my conduct from time to time so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Keep my name out of this issue if you don't mind. Thanks in advance. If I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say, then I apologize of course.

Since, as I skimmed, this isn't being handled in private with any success, I'd roll this right into the public eye.
Because a lot of members here will take any available oppurtunity to kiss the **** of a senior well respected member here. As mentioned earlier I dont belive this issue has anything do with you or Jesse personally, I was simply using your name as an example of a well respected long term member nothing more or less.

Im sorry but I have seen this behavior before where the whole world is ready to jump the offender until the name is released and then it changes to protecting the offender.

Not that I believe Jesse or Doro would do anything like this and I am in no way accusing them of anything, In fact they have proven themselves to be completely honest and I would trust either one of them with my bank account.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Yep, absolutely, positively. All those that say it doesn't/didn't happen, either are in denial or have a short memory.

Defending the offender happens mostly because we want to believe the good in people and we want to give a bunch of credit for past transactions that went flawlessly or because of the extra contribution many members make.

It's human nature, but one must still follow a principle that you are only as good as your last transaction.

    Hope things work themselves out

Merry X-mas to all at Club Polk

Larry, I agree with all the others who have stated that 6 months was way too long for you to wait and finally bring it to the forums attention, and then you leave us hanging as well.

I'm glad you are finally getting your money & that your faith is restored. However, I think you owe it to the rest of us to out whoever this is since no one else should unknowingly do any business with this person just to possibly get left hanging regardless of the reason.

That isn't fair to the rest of us. So just tell us who it is, so that we can be aware and then this can be put to rest.

I'm not interested in a witch hunt, but I am interested in only doing business with people who can be trusted to do the right thing in a business transaction.

Otherwise, this whole thread should never have been started.

Larry made a decision in which he believes in. He stuck by it. He got the issue resolved [for the time being] and he will also let us know if the transaction wasn't honored. Why is this discussion even going forward?

He started the thread to get "someone's" attention. It worked. Move on.
