That's a real one! And Elgin IL is on my way to/from work! I must resist!!!!!!!!!!

I had Threshold amps powering my Magnepan Tympani's years ago.

Isn't it bad form to photograph audio equipment you want to sell with your water heater in the background?

That is a killer amp..............the S/300 is a classic! Stasis at one time was cutting edge.

The Stasis amplifier certainly stands out as probably the premiere example of a simple, creative topology that's done a very good job and stood the test of time.

I'm surprised it doesn't have balanced inputs, but it sure looks like a good deal.

These amps were produced in the early 80's, not much had balanced inputs at that time, IIRC.

Doug - that is certainly true, but there are several places that specialize in them, just not local which means you'd have to ship it somewhere. Actually there's not a whole lot go wrong with a Stasis circuit they are very robust, but at that age I'm positive caps could use a refreshing.

The more problematic Threshold's were the earlier sliding bias amps both the opto-coupled and non-opto-coupled. Still, they are fairly robust but issues with age do pop up.

It would be cool to add that piece to the collective RAS

lol... I have no clue. I think my SDA's just to get some experience with different gear for now. I remember hearing these amps back in the day driving Magnepan Tympanies in the demo room at Magnepan and I loved the sound. Perhaps I will find a set of those to go with it.

    Update... he countered at 825.00

I am out at that price, but am willing to help out, if I can should someone here want it. He assures me that it is minty and working perfectly.

Just got off the phone with the amp's owner... He seems to be a straight shooter that just wants a good home for this amp. He dropped his price to 750 for me... If it werent for these tubes I am slaving over, this amp would be mine. I hope tubes are worth passing on this one.

No, it's heavily biased into class A (push/pull), but it's not full class A as in single ended class A. Some reading material

So John back at it again. The guy drops $200 off his price and you won't fork over the extra $50? Why do you keep showing interest in stuff you never have any intention to buy? You like the attention? A mental illness? Do the people that you pretend that you are interested in purchasing their items from a favor, and stop wasting their time. You are not impressing any of the people that spend time here.
