Richton Park? haven't seen many illinoisans here. And you're actually right down the street from my office in Homer Glen. Well, relatively speaking.

Yeah it its an older Deville, about a decade old now. But its nice to have the storage room for a home theater worth of speakers in the trunk. or a few bodies (I call it the mafia-wagon)

Yeah, I like the store. They're pretty helpful over there too. and no sales people circling you like vultures. You know, they have a radio show in the weekends on WLS 890AM. It's mostly 90 year-olds asking how to connect their vcr's to their tv's, but there a some good A/V discussions, and theyve actually answered a few more technical questions when I called in.

The speakers are now sitting in my living room. To clarify, the sale was for the complete RT-5000p system including RT3000p 2-piece mains, fx1000p surrounds, and CS1000p center. Physically, the speakers look brand new. sharp corners, no delamination anywhere, no pulls in grills, no broken grill pegs, and the rosewood is beatiful. Matches my Taylor acoustic guitar beautifully

    BUT there are issues, unfortunately:
    • loud hum in right subwoofer. perhaps the known grounding issue in the amplifier?
    • one blown VC in the left subwoofer
    • bridges for CS1000p binding posts missing

other than that they're great, and after auditioned them and we heard those issues, he knocked off a few hundred bucks from my initial price offer! crazy, but he insisted. My camera is charging so I can try to get some pics tonight.

no, I barely got them in the house then drove down to the hospital to hang out with my wife. They think she'll be in there another 3-7 days so i wont have much time to take them apart and work on them. She's been in here since almost halloween and im either here or at work unfortunately. But when I get her home I'll have more time to play around.

Leroy, were you the "other guy from wisconsin" calling about these speakers that the seller mentioned?
