I think you'll be very happy. I've heard nothing but great things about their subs.

It has some steep competition from the Tylers as far as accuracy, texture, control -- so we shall see how this unfolds

    Will be here Wednesday

That's good... it probably would have been nest Monday if not Wednesday.

Let us know how it works out; I'm on the fence about getting one, and I would also be using it only for music.

good luck with Epik Legend Subwoofer dual 12″ drivers
no cabinet vibration in a sub seems interesting if their claims are right.
you may also want to get the Epik Subwoofers Tees to match they
    now also have available.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone with an ear I trust to pickup one of these subs. No offense to anyone else, but I cannot wait for our review Trey.

    Later,

haha - I appreciate the compliment...

I already have a beef with it - the 50hz crossover is limiting like no ones business...

Either way other than it may be a **** to blend -

I will know more on sound, build, etc tonight.

Ok - I know this damn thing is 499 but why the hell cant they put a LEFT and RIGHT input as well as LFE.

    What a crock-o-****

I seriously am not very happy. Doing a quick run over Epik's subwoofer line up - not a single friggin sub has RIGHT AND LEFT inputs.

I can not short the outputs of my preamp together either to bring it one - I tried. No go.

I did run one in the crossover and one in the LFE and that did not negatively effect my preamp at all..

So I am thinking about picking up this -

I plan on keeping it crossed at 50 -

Ok - now that I am over this stupid design - Id like to comment this sub is the least music friendly subwoofer I have ever owned and does not look like the Empire has fixed the issue at all.

50 hz crossover? Please. There happens to be some speakers out there that still have balls below 50hz and a subwoofer is not needed until 40-30hz

One input for the crossover? W-T-F

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr

Ok - I am done bitching... Ill come back to this thread on Wednesday when these in line crossovers get here.

My system is weird... It is divided into two systems but at the same time being one system.

    Goes like this...

CDP > Preamp > Amp > Speakers - so if I want to run a sub in this system I have to run on the second outs on the Preamp...

On the HT side of things...

It goes Source > Receiver > Preamp (For mains) > Amp (For surrounds/center skip previous step) > Speakers - so the sub (VMPS) just runs on the LFE out....

The reason why I ultimately do not want to run the VMPS in the 2 channel rig is just the inability to tweak and move it. The Epik is small by comparison and relatively light weight (40 lbs vs. 140 lbs) - it is inexpensive and should provide me with the extension I need - but the problem with it may be the xover point is so high that I wont be able to blend it without a huge 50-40hz bump...

Either way, I more so wanted to see what Epik was all about and from a features stand point so far they SUCK.

Sound I dont know because the features suck so bad I cant even plug it up.

If the FMODs dont work - Ill return it and get the SVS which has a 30hz variable filter, right and left INS and OUTS! (GET OUT OF HERE!!!)

Shoot, why not keep your dual Tyler subs? Moving from those to the Epik seems like a downgrade.

Money one --- but the Crossover mods fixed the initial reason why I got the Tyler Subs...

I was going to rock no subs for a while but when I realized what I was missing down deep I figured I would search for a cheap alternative.

The Tyler subs are already sold - but I am not sure I would keep them at this point as I am just ready to try different subs, I like messing around with subs.

I will say this - from running one input the Epik has alot more tone than the SVS I had previously - so I think if the FMODs can do their thing, this sub may work for the purpose I am needing...

Shall see - Ill post more when I can hook it up properly...

Which SVS sub did you have? I hear that the Martin Logan subwoofers
are good for 2ch music. I too, run both a 2ch and HT system together.
I use a M&K dual 8in driver sub for 2ch music, and the SVS Ultra-13 for
    HT.

I had the PCi 25-31. My Dad had the old Ultra - lots of rumble but no tone or texture...

My budget if I am going to make a sub work will be around 500 - looks like that will be hard to do.. lol
