Congratulations on the new job. If I might make a suggestion, When you get to you new job and settled in that you get signed up with the VA asap because IIRC you've only got 2 years after your discharged to get signed up before your benefits go bye bye. Even if you decide not to use you VA benefits now they will still be there for you 10 - 20 years from now especially the health care.

Any suggestions on where to live or not to live in the Pax River region of Maryland?

My dad worked at Pax River after he retired from the AF (F-86 fighter pilot in the Korean 'conflict') and lived in a tiny town called Hollywood north of Pax.

I used to go back during the summers (80-83) as a summer hire (GS-4) at Pax to save money for college.

It has changed ALOT since my folks left - really boomed up in development. But, my brother still lives there in Lexington Park which is right outside the gates of Pax.

What are you looking for? House, apartment, yard - big, small, close to Pax, or are you willing to drive a bit?

And - thank you for your service!

I commute doesn't bother me to much and I would prefer to buy a house, something more rural with a big yard. I was looking online at Leonardtown.

Leonard town is kinda nice - as I recall there are some properties with some big 'yards' - more like 'fields'

I'll give my brother a call see what things are like.

St Mary's city is a pretty area too.
