OK, so I just spent a half hour reading all of the seller in question's posts.

Demi, great call. The activity is definitely outside of the norms of the CP flea market.

The verbiage used is not absolutely conclusive, but personally leads me to believe there is constant acquisiton of goods with the intent to resell.

There's nothing to firmly indicate exactly how the items are acquired, but several retailers are mentioned and original sales receipts are claimed to exist.

I find it EXTREMELY odd that dozens and dozens of unused new in box items, where the seller claims to have the original receipt, are offered for less than the price paid.

If the claims by the seller are true, it seems like a great formula for bankruptcy.

It was directed to those that continued their rant afterward. Not sure why they don't contact the person in question themselves. I'll be on the automotive forums if you wish to continue the sarcasm

In that case, I hope the guy gets banned. I don't pay much attention to the F/M but after learning a few things I can say he has no reason to be here.

Oh and btw, I'm talking about Jolax73.

The items aren't stolen, however it's just very bad form (and against the rules) to buy (offline) just to resell it here and on other forums simply for personal gain.

I sold an unopened Ipad last month in the FM for $425. And it was for a friend. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107834
As suspicious as it may have seemed, the guys wife won it at her work in a raffle. They could care less about tech stuff and they just wanted to make some cash. The guy didn't even know how to post it on ebay lol. I told him I could probably get rid of it for him on here as I had just seen a post for one on sale a week or so before that. He said sure and I put it up and it sold.
It was my first sale here and the rest of my feedback comes from me buying stuff. I don't feel like this thread was aimed at me but before anyone gets curious and starts looking up old FM threads I thought I would just put this out here.

I agree. Besides, anybody can make an 'original sales receipt', it's not like there is an international standard or anything right? As far as warranty coverage goes though, it's whether or not that receipt is from an authorized retailer and acceptable by the manufacturer that really counts.

If a seller is not a contributing member to the forum and is only here to sell their movies, or NIB stuff w/receipt or what have you, then they don't belong here (first 100 posts to enable FM posts don't count). I don't see an issue with the occasional sale like what is being discussed, but continual? or 99% of activity is thus? No Thanks.

Can we relax a bit here? No one is getting banned for their opinion, since I'm not allowed to do that anymore....or I'd ban all of you for being annoying. The head's up has been done and the watching/probing has started, so cool your jets.

I find it ironic that the one guy who was against this thread is the one guy that actually brought the guy's name into the discussion.

If that were the case, then so be it. But I know most of us around here have somewhat of a thick skin (wish I could say the same for everyone) especially after seeing some of those cable/amp debates and such.

Anyway, I really think that if people had a problem with it that they contact said-party directly whether via PM or Email.

I see the thread as a means to conjure **** up and hide behind others (I could be wrong but that's the impression I'm getting here).

If you were at the movies, and someone was kicking your seat from behind you wouldn't complain about it later to your friends after the movie right? You'd tell the person behind you to quit their ****.

If something bothers you, speak up. That's just my opinion.

    Speak up? OK.

There is no 'said party' -- you're the only person in this thread who named anyone, which is way out of bounds. That its one particular person is an assumption you made and you're dead wrong.

All your +1 and smart talk seems odd considering your first post in this thread:
    kawizx9r wrote: »
So I wasn't the only one with this in the back of my mind?

I have contacted some people that arose some suspicions, merely asking questions, hence the thread. Everything is not clear, counter to your claims. It never will be either, because proving something is stolen isn't easy. No matter, its all beside the point.

I don't want Club Polk and the Flea Market to be known as a place on the internet that any Tom, Dick and Harry can pawn off their **** and potentially screw others. Even if everything is on the up and up, we're better off without this kind of crap.

I'm going to keep up the scrutiny of new sellers who don't participate in the forum and are just here to sell whether you like it or not.

To me, the only thing that sends up red flags is when it happens with regularity. It definitely wasn't directed at any one person, and certainly not someone like yourself.

Anyway, yeah I stated his name who cares. He's on here only to sell stuff for personal gain.
