Sorry about my post #4... I thought the thread was about a flea market not the site's "Fleamarket". Total foul-up on my part.

I VOTE FOR A PERMANANT BAN!!!!

Stolen or not,This is nothing more then spam and he has no intrest in being part of the Fourm!!!

I couldn't agree more. Let this guy peddle his non-audio related, non-Polk related, NIB items elsewhere. He is adding nothing to the community...

If the item the members are making are audio/video related, and the member is an active contributor, I see them as two completely different things. The guy that I assume everyone is talking about is just selling random stuff and making no other contributions. Big difference.

    Hah.

It's the price you pay when you buy used. I bought a TV a few years back at a pretty darn good deal... I can't say for certain if it is stolen (and don't much care), I just don't think I'll ever call about the warranty.Unfortunately, I've never seen a public registry of stolen items by serial number. I don't even know if they have one for guns. Buyer beware, and all that.
Humm, that may be bad Karma on you with such an attitude... Just put it this way, how would you feel about someone here buying some gear from a thief that stole it from you? Personally, my motto is kind of easy, "Don't do to others what you do not want done to you". If anything comes my way that is remotely suspicious, I will not buy it, I'll let the crook sell it to another crook (hoping they both get caught)

Well, I guess I see it this way, if I have something stolen... It will likely be sold, nothing I can do about it. I will probably never find it. I cannot expect the buyer to be able to know, beyond a doubt, that it was stolen. If something is completely obviously stolen (engraved or something), I probably won't deal with it.. but what are the signs of theft? Low price? is that enough to assume theft? I put the fault on the seller, not the buyer, unless the buyer is aware it is stolen, as in, was told.

Like I said, it's too bad there isn't a federal theft registry or something....

Those curcumstances are completely different and you know it.

Those are guys who have built a reputation and who participate outside of the fleam market regularly.

We're talking about a guy who really only shows up to sell stuff...
If you notice some of Polk's comments in that regard it seems like those folks were also cleared by Polk and the members. Tweaks and mods that some Polkie enjoy to own but rather not spend the time to do them selves will actually feel the Polkie that sells them the tweak is actually a great forum contributor for this. I would suggest/recommend before you turn this around that you first check how Polk and the forum members feel about it. There are also some outside business that were invited to sell their products here but the keyword is invited rather than done in a sneaky way

No I don't. The items he is selling actually do something, and we don't know that they are stolen.

Honestly, instead of creating a thread on this why not ask the person/people in question?

I PMed said-member since I did have my doubts but it was cleared up. Not sure why some of you don't do the same?

That doesn't make any sense to me. We were all blessed with brains of varying ability.

What is in hand is evidence of the empirical variety. Furthermore, the purpose of the thread was to make people aware of the potential, not accuse anyone, hence no names and no links. This isn't dedicated to just one seller in particular, either. I have had contact with a couple of people and things are anything but clear, which is why I thought a thread putting this out there was in order.

If anyone wants to start dredging up names and making accusations in this thread, that's not really my problem. It wasn't my purpose, either. I just want to make sure others are on the look out for one another.

To me, the Flea Market doesn't exist for random people on the net to get the minimum number of posts and routinely post sales without bothering to participate in the rest of the forum in any capacity. That's just my interpretation of it, though, there's certainly no rule against it.

Yeah but what Doro doesn't mentions is that he beggs, threathens and twist harms and leggs to get those positive feed backs (there are evidences on this site that proves he is guilty of the above):tongue:

In Ben(Ben8675309) and Larry's(TOOLFORLIFEFAN) defense, they both contacted myself prior to sales in the FM and I submitted it to Polk Audio. They didn't do anything without permission. They have some handshake restrictions and have been monitored since then.

It's side work for these guys and if it turned into a business, that's different. If it turns out any member is running their business thru our FM?.....G O N E.

If you have issues, please contact me via PM and I'll forward them up the chain.

Maybe some that was omitted when the post count from 25 up to 100 in order to be allowed to add some in the FS is that post count shouldn't be active on that forum?

Maybe this thread should have been titled something like "Abuse of the flea market and the CP forum" instead. Pretty sure Dem did not make this thread to accuse someone of selling stolen goods, but rather just putting the thought out there.

There is a big difference in this member selling NIB stuff and other members selling things like Ben and Larry. What they are offering is something DIRECTLY related to this forums creation. And something that may not be able to be had anywhere else online. Hell I can buy a brand new iPod at many places.

To me the member in question is using the forum for free advertising for his goods. Again, IF one searches this users name (Google) they will see he does this on various forums. So it boils down to this for him....why pay listing fees when I can list my **** for free on this forum.

If that were the case, then so be it. But I know most of us around here have somewhat of a thick skin (wish I could say the same for everyone) especially after seeing some of those cable/amp debates and such.

Anyway, I really think that if people had a problem with it that they contact said-party directly whether via PM or Email.

I see the thread as a means to conjure **** up and hide behind others (I could be wrong but that's the impression I'm getting here).

If you were at the movies, and someone was kicking your seat from behind you wouldn't complain about it later to your friends after the movie right? You'd tell the person behind you to quit their ****.

If something bothers you, speak up. That's just my opinion.
