You have it all figured out, don't ya?

    I think so.
(BTW, I traded my tinfoil hat in for something different .... tinfoil skivies)

As Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's great detective Sherlock Holmes said:

"As a rule, the more bizarre a thing is the less mysterious it proves to be."

He's warm with that thought. Gets real warm with this one:

"As Cuvier could correctly describe a whole animal by the contemplation of a single bone, so the observer who has thoroughly understood one link in a series of incidents should be able to accurately state all the other ones, both before and after. "

Okay, he's red, red hot on this one:

"How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

So .... Back in July, the Chinese military declared that China had "indisputable sovereignty" over the South China Sea. Long story short on that ... China was/is flexing its ever-increasing military muscle. Back then, their Minister of Defense said, ""We will, in accordance with the demands of international law, respect the freedom of the passage of ships or aircraft from relevant countries."

Relevant countries ? As defined by ? as .... "Mess with China's dominance, and you're no longer relevant".
Japan, Vietnam (remember them ? We have significant economic interests there now), and Southeast Asian countries are sweating bullets.

The submarine based MISSLE launch was designed as a shot across the bow, in Naval parlance/ to say "Ahem .... let's not get too frisky over there, China".
A VERRRRRRY WIDE shot across the bow. We don't want to piss the Chinese military off, just a little heads up. That's why it occurred 35 miles off of the coast of Los Angeles.
IT WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN but not to be perceived as an imminent threat by the Chinese military.
If the Navy could have launched that missile from the San Diego Municipal pool, they would have. Dang sub was too big to fit into the pool though.

And that was a missile contrail.
Although Boeing is very proud of its new 787 Dreamliner, only in their wildest dreams could they ever hope for a contrail like that.

..... especially with their Rolls Royce engines. Ask EADS about their Airbus Rolls engines.

... you know, these tinfoil skivies are beginning to chafe the biscuits a little.

I'm with some of you, don't believe a word government tells me. My guess is none of them want to admit to it, because once you do,you have to explain it. Then soom heads will have to roll, the prez will look bad, along with the defense dept. for not knowing or letting it happen. Kills me to see people go on TV and claim it was an optical illusion. How friggin' dumb do they think people are ? Well, obviously very dumb.

No, actually the price of food would sky-rocket because there would be no cheap labor to grow / harvest it, and generally speaking, most Americans are too lazy to take these jobs if they were available.

Why should they ? The government pays you to not work, and most likely more than working your butt off out in the hot sun everyday. But if you did away with that, partially anyway, you'd be surprised how fast the average joe would take to the fields.
