The 707s need boatloads of power, so I hope someone is bringing something capable of at-least 350w at 4 ohms. I'm sure it's been discussed but I'm too lazy to look back through the thread

check..got that covered:wink: bringing something a bit different for this one.

Good man. Tubes do rule. When I heard the 703s on marvda1's tube monoblocks, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

please forgive this question as i am new to the community:

is this polkfest simply a unsanctioned gathering of like-minded enthusiasts bringing their personal gear for a bit of social hour/backyard BBQ/show and tell/shop talk...

...or is it something that polk is involved in with special testing of new and/or rare products?

either way this is something that interests me, esp because i live in florida...i have both social and professional obligations that weekend so this isnt a possibility for me but i may like to consider such a gathering in the future.

and my apologies if this is a more of a closed event that i stumbled into...im not trying to invite myself into somewhere i may not be welcome.

PolkFest is a party / gathering of like-minded enthusiasts like you stated, while this year allows Polk to display some new products. That is unusually on its own, but very nice Polk to do that.

The events are sanctioned by Polk Audio. Members of their Exec. Staff do attend each event. At nearly all of the eight fest some new Polk Product has been featured from electronics to speakers. They are nearly all held during October....next year looks like HQ will be inviting us up. That said..our Fests make this more than an internet forum, many of us have made life-long friendships where we see each other for a few days each year, yet pick right up where we left off...all that is required to attend is an interest in audio and some sense of social redemption...all though that can be iffy:wink:.......

    It's Polkfest...It's a Party, It's an Audio Extravaganza, It's Awesome.

    Don't miss it.

I will be bringing some Aurum Cantus Leisure3 SE monitor speakers (6 1/2 inch drivers, a ribbon tweeter and Stands) that we can compare to the 703s. I also have a pair of original Polk Monitor 7Bs I could bring for a little historical prospective if anyone would be interested. These have peerless tweeters and upgraded crossovers in the lovely rosewood vinyl.

Florida has survived hurricanes, contentious elections and political debates, drug wars and foreign refuges. Unfortunately I have strong concerns about it's ability to handle this many Polkies gathered in one location in a single moment of time.

Sorry guys, as much as I'd love to make a 3rd Polkfest, it's not in the cards this year. I will be at next year's PF, hoping it's at HQ again, but if not I'll go wherever.

Have fun and all you noobs who have never been to a PF, are in for a real treat!!

I am really bummed I can't meet a few of you. Troy, Bruce and George D, especially. I'll miss seeing these guys again Shack, Ben, John, Ted, Joe (the host), Lou, Dave, Jesse and Cnh, crazy Russ (lightman) and of course Patrick and AL.

    Have fun, be safe
