Wow. I was about to reply to the first post, then I started reading this s%^it.

Old people always think young people are reckless and need discipline. Old people will always think that they should have the ability to talk down to young people, simply because of their age. It's just something they have to do. And, of course, if a young person says something about the way an old person is treating them... they are whining. I didn't read this thread, but you can't win... there are too many old people surrounding you. May as well call it quits and stop digging deeper.

For one that is not true. Respect is earned not just granted like a wish and upon your command.

If I would just walk up to my manager who is far wiser and more experienced than I in my job and talk like I know everything and that I was never wrong, well I wouldn't be trusted with a whole lot as he would find that pretty disrespectful seeing he KNOWS I wouldn't have a clue as to what I'm talking about.

People that are older than you have been through a lot more, done a lot more, probably have been in the same situation (or worse) than you, and thus will normally speak from experience. When a young person than tries to prove that wrong, they often find themselves in trouble, hurt, or with a missed opportunity because they were too stubborn to listen to someone that has done it, or lived it before.

Yes at times, they can be wrong, but often, they are right, and I have also found that they also will give respect back if it is given to them. I will gladly ask a question of someone older than me that has experience in something I know nothing of because I would rather have logical and sound advice than just take a chance on stuff.

I'm only 24 and always thought I knew best, trust me I've made plenty of mistakes on my own, and found that a lot of times, when I got advice from someone that was there before and was a bit older to a lot older than me and I didn't listen; they were right.

I'm over it man. Show me what I posted to have him say "judging by your posts"?

How many times have you said you were over it? And in the very next sentence, you're not. If I were you, at this point, I'd try a self-imposed ban. Maybe come back in a month with a new screen name. Why so serious?

sorry, let me rephrase. I am not saying that all old people think this... I am just saying that if you get enough old people in a room, it's likely to happen (IMO). I didn't really read anything said, though I scrolled through page six to notice a general trend. I probably had no room to talk. Sorry.

Ah hell, it's better this way. If I was in on it from the start, I'd probably be banned right now. Too much material here. It'd be like shooting monkeys in a barrel!

But I gotta ask...why don't you people act like this in person? Well, except Jesse, he's always like that. I mean, if you acted like this in person, Polkfests would be immensely more entertaining than they already are. I wouldn't even have to drink to take the edge off!

Lots of truth and wisdom in your post! Many old folks look in the mirror and don't like what they see and the only way to feel better about them selves is to pound on the youngsters to let them know how s@R%%ed up they are. "It was not like this during the good old days" "We were so much better". I wonder, are they lying to them selves or simply to others  As I am aging, my hope is to NOT become such a d&@k head!

I will do everything I possibly can to have F1nut banned.

Well ..... I got to thinking about it. You may have a point.

I have to say ..... I asked F1 to bring bag a duffel bag of sand from the Middle East a while back and ...... well ...... I still haven't seen any sand yet.
    :(

Not that he said he would, but ....... I mean, he was there anyhow, so how much trouble would that have been ?!

I still need some sand to fill in a hole by my downspout, btw. It ain't going to fix itself !!!
